5.0 out of 5 stars The changing sound of Roberto Carlos, September 26, 2000

This review is from: O Inimitavel 68 (Audio CD)
This is a phenomenal album. The usuals are here: the mellow love songs and the upbeat pop/rock songs. But what's unique about this album is that the upbeat numbers are quite funky, with a sort of Motown flavor to them. Also, for the first time strings, a full horn section and female background vocalists are used in many of the tracks. All this just perfectly complements Roberto's always appropriate vocal stylings. He adapted to the changing sound of late 60's music without any compromising whatsoever. This is also one of his last albums where electric guitar was prominently featured in most of the tracks, after which his sound became predominantly more mellow with heavier orchestrations. Songs like 'Ninguem Vai Tirar Voce De Mim', 'As Cancoes Que Voce Fez Pra Mim', and 'Se Voce Pensa' display his wonderful vocal range capablilities. This is a must have whether or not one understands Portuguese!
