I bought this book on a whim in a book store thinking that it's worth trying an Irish novelist instead of an American one for a change - I've made better decisions in the Past. It's clear O`connor tries to describe his characters as normal people with normal human faults and error of judgment but he also manages to alienate them from the reader (at least from me) and by The middle of the book I was so fed up with them I didn't really care what happened to them anymore. If you somehow manage to get to the end of the book, it is so far fetched and idiotic it seems like written by a novice book writer who couldn't decide whether he wanted a happy or a sad ending. Not recommended
