I REALLY LIKE THIS PLAYER. THE SERVICE WAS GOOD IN PURCHASING IT AND I LIKE THE PLAYER: IT'S STRAIGHT-FORWARD IN ITS FEATURES, WHICH I LIKE. REASONABLE PRICE FOR A VERY GOOD QUALITY DVD PLAYER. THANX VERY MUCH!

The DVD Player is made with Active Matrix Technology TFT, and thus is suited for quickly moving images such as action videos by Universal or Sony or multimedia movies by Disney and Pixar.

Passive Matrix, opposed to Active, is suited for still images and has a slower response time for the pixels on the 2 Dimensional Matrix of the screen (L x W), to change color. The Active Matrix uses electric currents to turn on red, blue, and green pixel cells.

The sound quality is not top notch, but using a suitable headphone or connecting it to external speakers will increase the sound quality.

Because it is Region-Free, it can play all of my backup DVDs as well as Multi-Lingual DVD movies.

I had an Initial portable DVD with a smaller screen. When it quit working, I wanted only an Initial to replace it as I loved that player! I am very disappointed in this 10.2" player and if I had it to do over again, I would have tried a different brand.

The picture quality is great.

The sound is terrible. You can have it on full blast and STILL the volume is quite low. If I have it in the ktichen while I'm making dinner or doing chores, I can't hear it if there is much noise.

Also, almost every DVD I've put it in won't load the first time. These are brand new, never played DVDs. I put one it and it will continue to say loading and makes a squeaking noise. I have to open it, push on the DVD, maybe take it out and put it back in . . . a pain. OR sometimes it will still show open after I've closed it.

It's just a real pain and I would have rather paid much less money for something that would work better. Definitely wouldn't recommend this one and I won't order one on-line again because of shipping costs to receive it and what it would cost to send it back. If I had purchased it directly from a store, I would have returned it the first day.

it's so solid and resistant works like a charm so far no problems.
I used it for my baby daughter we take it every where very long time battery.

I used it sporadically for about a year and rarely travelled with it.

Now it won't read any of my DVD's.

That is $300 I could have spent towards a better brand.
