About This Guide
This guide is based on release 3.1G/H of the SAP R/3 System and provides you with the following:
-A quick overview of the data transfer.
-A detailed description of how to organize and perform the data transfer.
-A detailed outline of how to perform the data transfer using some of the most common applications.
-A series of sample files to help you get practical experience on your own system. For more information on these sample files, see the readme.txt document on the diskette. If you do not use the R/3 Simplification Group's pre-configured client, you will probably have to adjust the data.
-A section relating to data transfer that will enable even an inexperienced SAP R/3 user to understand and perform the data transfer.
-An Appendix that contains the names of existing SAP standard data transfer programs, an example of a customer specific conversion program, a questionnaire to tackle data transfer, a Go-Live plan and a Quick Reference sheet.

This guide provides information for everybody involved in the initial data transfer of an implementation project: Consultants not experienced with SAP Consultants experienced with SAP Customer IT personnel.
