The description leaves some things out. A remote conrol is included, and it will play VCD, SVCD, MP3-CD and music DVD formats in addition to the ones listed. A fine unit for under $100.

I ordered this for my son. So far so good. The sound is excellent most portable DVD players I have seen have terribly low sound, but this one is LOUD when turned all the way up.

I added my pictures, I was leary of buying since there were not any pictures, but for 99 dollars and free shipping, I hated to miss out on a good deal.

This Portable DVD player is a great find!! At $94.99 I wasn't too sure of its quality... but when I got it, it turned out to be pretty nice! It has good sound, good picture quality, and it comes with almost everything you need. It comes with an AC adapter, car adapter, remote, rechargable battery, and cords to plug it into the TV. All I needed to buy extra was a pair of headphones! Really great for the price!

This player sure has a great price, and now I know why. The lid on the unit I received does not want to snap shut without pressing down with a bit of force. And the lid seems like it's going to break sooner or later due to its fragile appearance.

Additionally, the player's motor is extremely noisy and a bit of a distraction. The battery compartment (attachment) also does not fit snugly to the main unit, and the 'play' in the connection makes me feel very uncomfortable about how well this player will withstand even minor abuse.

The picture out of the box was very dim and had to be adjusted. For a small screen the image is not anywhere near the quality (clarity, sharpness, vividness of colors) I expected. But then, for <$100 I guess I should not have expected more than this.

I bought two of these for my daughters for Christmas 2005 to use on the long trips to visit their grandparents. The one that my older daughter received has been great -- no problems at all. The one my younger daughter received froze up right out of the box with a brand new DVD. We sent that back to Amazon.com and they sent a new one right away (Amazon has been very responsive, IMHO). The second one also froze up right out the box, but recovered with a sharp tap, so we decided to keep it so she could use it on an upcoming trip. It worked that way for the last 6 months. Now it won't recover from those freezes. It is still under warranty, so I have called and e-mailed Initial customer service about 5 times in the last two weeks. Although their message says that they return calls within 1 business day, I haven't heard from them after two weeks of trying. I am VERY disappointed in their customer support. I'm not terribly impressed with the quality of the product either, although I've never seen any DVD player that has worked the way it's supposed to for very long.
