About the Artist

Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer has successfully bridged the worlds of classical and popular music, performing a unique blend of the two that has now become the Grammy® recognized category, Classical Crossover. He has performed with orchestras and ballet companies as well as artists such as Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville, Miss America, and the group Everclear. Meyer’s early training on the violin began at age 5 and was both rigorous and classical. At the age of 11 he made his stage debut, soloing with the prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra. His studies continued with Luis Biava, the associate conductor with the Philadelphia Orchestra and at Indiana University with Yuval Yaron, a student of Jascha Heifetz. Though he has performed in concert halls around the world, Meyer’s energetic music has won him appearances where most violinists would not have the chance to play, venues like two World Peace Conferences (The Hague and NYC), a special performance for His Holiness The Dalai Lama, and the NBA Western Conference Finals. Meyer has arranged and performed scores for PBS programs, national TV spots, and the critically acclaimed Pink Martini Album Sympathique. Aaron composed, conducted, and recorded string parts for Everclear's Slow Motion Daydream album. Meyer has released seven albums in collaboration with producer and composer Bill Lamb on their label GMC Records. In November, 2004 Meyer, Lamb and their 8 piece band performed a 90-minute concert of originally composed music with the Oregon Symphony at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Aaron performed with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra at Lumpini Park in Bangkok, Thailand in January 2006. Bill Lamb - Guitars, dulcimer, octave mandolin, bass, keyboards, & vocals This list of instruments Bill Lamb has played as a session musician is only outdone by the list of stars he has performed or recorded with. In his career as a musician he appeared on many artist’s recordings, including albums by Elton John, Crystal Gayle, Ann Murray, Pam Tillis, and Johnny Mathis. As a recording artist himself, Bill has been signed to Elektra Asylum Records, A&M Records, and Warner Brothers Records. Over the course of his career Bill has worked with many with legendary producers, including Thom Bell (Delfonics, The Spinners, Stylistics), Jimmy Bowen (Sinatra, Reba McIntyre, George Strait, Garth Brooks), and Glyn Johns (The Eagles, Eric Clapton). In addition to his talents as a musician and producer, Lamb is an accomplished composer and has enjoyed having his original songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Nicollete Larson, Ronna Reeves, The Spinners, Randy Meisner of The Eagles, and Iain Mathews. Lamb began collaborating with Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer in 2000 when they co-wrote and produced Near The Edge, which debuted with Oregon Ballet Theatre. In a true cross-cultural collaboration, Bill recorded and produced the record “Oh My Heart” by Fijian celebrity musician Jale Mareua which was released on GMC Records in April 2006.

Aaron Meyer's music is innovative, energetic, and passionate to listen to! I recommend this cd for anyone who enjoys instrumental music that is uplifting! The arrangements are beautifully composed, and delivered by a superbly, classically educated violinist, Aaron Meyer... with his full band of talented musicicians backing him up.
