Inked Magic was an awesome read. Becoming part of Etaín's tattooed world and the decadence of San Francisco, I felt ready to get a tattoo from Etaín and travel through Cathal's club and enjoy having dinner at Eamon's restaurant. And the mystery of the Harlequin Rapist prowling the streets had a satisfying conclusion. Meeting Etaín, Cathal and Eamon's friends/clients/etc. fleshed out the rest of story where interesting side stories could form (and hopefully will form).
This book was erotically delightful. And JS, if you're reading this, this fan wants more!
I'm big into ink. But even if I was not Inked Magic would of had my full attention. It's so very well written, the attention to detail is amazing and the story with it's touch of magic is gripping. I loved the heroin Etain. She is definitely my new favorite. She's strong, independent, sexy, talented, giving, magical, has an amazingly huge heart and knows what she wants.
Cathal and Eamon are two amazingly drool worthy specimens from completely different worlds and are both perfect for Etain. It's going to take time, sacrifices and patience. But I feel they are going to be a very successful trio.
Next book please :)
Etain becomes involved with Cathal Dunne after, his cousin and a friend are drugged, attacked and left for dead but Cathal's cousin doesn't die, her father is a mob boss and he learns that Etain can help find the killers. He wants her help whether she wants to help or not.
Eamon is a fey prince who sees Etain when she comes into his restaurant with Cathal. Eamon knows she is his mate and he knows that she is involved with Cathal also.
This is a wild ride, as Etain tries to help Cathal, Eamon is determined to keep her safe and have only fey ask her for help.
Wonderful story, the love interest is great and very surprising, I'm not sure where this is going but I'm going to follow all the way.
The mob justice was, very graphic, I'm not a eye for an eye kind of person but in this case, I did understand even if I didn't agree.
Very erotic! I love her books this is on a level with Ghostland and Spider Touched, simply outstanding!
Cathal and Eamon are both strong controlling men that don't really like to share. Somehow Etain manages to have her way with them without making the seem any less masculine. Their tenderness and care for her made them some amazing leading men. I liked that one of them struggled for a long time with the idea of sharing her with the other. But Etain needs them both, for different reasons.
The story unfolds around Etains budding and developing abilities, the search for the Harlequin Rapist, and Cathal's mission to find who is responsible for his counsin's attack. Three big storyline manage to converge very nicely and wrap around each other very well. Although at first I thought the Harlequin Rapist was the one Cathal was after as well, but I think that's because I midread something.
There are some fairly dark scenes in this book, especially when dealing with the victims of the rapes. While there are no very detailed scenes of the attack, the emotional impact and impression is very tangible. The author handled this very sensitive subject with taste, but with honesty as well. This book had a definite noir feeling to it. I pictured the scenes in dark tones with flashes of vibrant colors. Book two, Inked Destiny, in on the shelf waiting for me.
