I ordered the Stratitec ink refill kit.
I also ordered the 6 extra large bottles of black.
The kit works great.
Black ink works great. I save $15 every time I refill and have refilled 15-30 times so far (stopped counting) and still have 3 bottles left.

The color ink is not as bright as the original Canon photo ink (used in a Canon Pixma MP500 printer). So I mainly refill the black ink with the Stratitec and buy new Canon color.

You'll need to drill a hole in the top of the ink cartridge and then plug it with a little rubber stopper that is included. (drill bit also included).

The Canon printer somehow knows when you refilled (instead of buying new ink from Canon) and their printer no longer tells you when the cartridge is empty. (this feature shuts off) So that's a disadvantage. But I save $15 each refill so it's worth it. (and I save the trip to the store).

The ink refill process can be messy. I use rubber gloves. Not a problem.

The kit is impressive.

It should be noted that the kit "might" not work with aged cartridges. That is, cartridges that have been empty for a while or haven't been used in a while.
I have the kit, but I still have to buy new cartridges before the refill will work. I tried the old cartridge and it failed. I cleaned it and now it leaks horribly, even with a very small amount of ink. I followed the instructions. In the end I had to discard the cartridge.

The instructions for the refill are online and are very detailed.

The kit seems great. Good contents. Seems like good bang for the buck. I look forward to trying it in a newly empty cartridge.

This package provides a large quantity of ink at a very reasonable price. Refilling your own cartridges is easy and much much less expensive than buying new ones, and the quality is good (it's a little bit more complicated if you have cartridges with an electronic ink droplet counter, but since the counters can be reset this is not a major hurdle).

I've been using this ink now for about two months in a Canon MP 970. It appears to provide photo-prints on 4" x 6" Canon paper as good as the Canon Ink. I haven't yet noticed any fading or smearing or other problems. However, I did have problems with the instructions that were provided.

The instructions directed me to drill a hole on top of the cartridge in a really bad location. On top of the ink cartridge towards the front, usually hidden under a paper tag, there is already a small fill hole with a little rubber ball seated in it that acts sort of like a one way valve. It is hidden from view by paper stickers & tags on the cartridge. I've seen some ink replacement kits that sell you replacement rubber balls so that you can use the existing fill hole rather than drilling a new one. However, this kit directs you to simply drill a new hole and insert a rubber plug when your through filling the cartridge with ink.

The instructions, through the pictures, directed me to drill right on or on the edge of this pre-existing hole. However, this is a bad place to drill, because after filling the cartridge with ink, you need to insert a little rubber plug & create a tight seal in the newly made hole. If you drill at the site of the old hole or on the edge of the old hole, you end up with a mess. Disregard the instructions and drill the new fill-hole more towards the top front of the cartridge and well away from the edge of the old fill hole. You need a cleanly drilled hole that doesn't contact any other part of the cartridge mechanisms. This allows the new rubber plug to insert tightly and correctly to seal the hole after you've filled the cartridge with ink. Like a cork in a bottle. If you don't have good seal on the new fill hole, the ink just pours out of the bottom of the cartridge. You can loose a lot of expensive ink in just a 1/2 second. I had to use a glue gun to seal up the messed up fill holes on the first two cartridges I worked on. This problem could have been avoided with clear instructions.

I have been using the same Stratitec refill kit for YEARS. It is hard to believe there is so much ink in it! And when I bought it, I think I paid less than $10! I have found that yellow is the fastest of the colored ink to go- I have to buy extras of just that to keep me printing. Can't say enough great things about this kit!

I purchased the Stratitec Inkjet Ink Refill Kit Model number: EIR595, as it is described in their product specs, and I got "Nano Digital" ink , some syringes, and real needles that look like something you get from a drug dealer! I have purchased the Stratitec kit before and this IS NOT it, not even close. Im very mad, and frustrated because I needed this asap, and that's why I paid extra money for faster shiping but thats not all, after I tried to explain them that this is not what they advertise, I got an e-mail from them with this "if you like order a Stratitec kit, you need go to Stratitec kit store. Thank. Dinsink" I mean what is that???

I have used refill kits for several years. This kit has twice the amount of ink at a great price

I purchased the Refill Kit from Stratitec on Amazon. While they said the refill kit was compatible with my printer, they failed to mention that my printer cartridges could NOT be refilled. Once I got the ink, I found out I had to spend another $50 to buy refillable cartridges...

Have not used this yet but the instructions both with the kit and on internet takes all the worry out. I appreciate the ways shown to get around printer blocks to using inexpensive ink. I refilled manufacture's cartridges long ago with some success. With these instructions now I will know how to do it and encourage the cartridge to start inking. Very glad I bought this at low cost.
