Digital Art Studio Seminars (DASS) Digital Alchemy DVD01: Learn new processes for transferring inkjet prints to other surfaces using gelatin, gels and fresco gelatin. All processes are suitable for desktop and wide format printers using pigment inks. This seminar series is for all artists and photographers looking for alternative processes for expanding on how to express their own creative voice. Processes covered require the use of inkjet media like the DASSTM Transfer Film or other media with a water soluble coating that will release the image. About the Artist: In 1997, Bonny Pierce Lhotka co-organized Digital Atelier: A Printmaking Studio for the 21st Century at the National Museum of Amercan Art of the Smithsonian Institution and was an Artist-in-Residence there for 21 days. She is the recipient of the Smithsonian Computerworld Technology in the Arts Award.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must have for digital artists, October 16, 2008

This review is from: Inkjet Transfer Techniques by Bonny Lhotka: Gelatin and Gel Transfer Processes for Alternative Photography and Fine Art (DVD)
This video is packed with really good informative demonstrations. Bonny has obviously done her homework in this field and proves that she is a master at combining art and technology. Bonny breaks down each topic in easy to understand steps with an itemized list of materials you'll need at the beginning of each demo.

I have the Digital Art Studio book which I love and it was great to see the demos come to life in this DVD. I had used the OCE' film outlined in the DAS book and it had become a crucial material in my own artwork and was crushed to find out that OCE' discontinued the product. I contacted Dot Krause' about alternatives to the OCE' film and she put me in contact with Bonny who set me at ease when she turned me on to the DASSTM Transfer Film which I think is a much superior product than the OCE' film.

I highly recommend both the Digital Art Studio book and the Inkjet Transfer Techniques DVD for those of you who are experimenting with combing digital media with their artwork.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Inkjet Transfer Techniques by Bonny Lhotka: Gelatin and Gel Transfer Processes for Alternative Photography and Fine Art (DVD)
I just viewed this item for the first time. The purchase transaction and shipping went smoothly and promptly (not sold directly from amazon the transaction goes thru Digital Art Studio). The video itself is well made with various camera angles, good lighting and sound. Bonny is VERY knowledgeable and teaches in a very clear step by step manner. This DVD is the first of a series of three planned DVDs and I can't wait for the others to be ready for purchase.

This one demonstrated several methods for transferring pigment based inkjet images, printed on DASS film, onto various surfaces. I can't wait for the DASS film to be available to purchase here on Amazon too. It should be available soon, apparently.

I have definitely been inspired and I am hoping to play around with some variations of these methods, using supplies that I have on hand, anxiously awaiting access to the film for my desktop printer.

These techniques are a wonderful way of taking digital art in a new direction and dimension.

I highly recommend this DVD, and their book Digital Art Studio. These are great resources created by some of the best pioneers in the field of digital art.
