I bought this item to use for a children's craft project rather than for any official purpose. But after trying to use regular stamp pads, this one proved to be far superior. It is much less messy than conventional ink pads--especially necessary when working with a large number of kids at a time. Also, this pad produces clear fingerprint images, which I was able to scan, enlarge, and put on T-shirt iron-ons for the children.
