You get 18 Ooglees for about $2.50 each, rather expensive for a ball-point pen, I think, and maybe also high for a silly little toy. The 18 pin/toys are exactly the same except for the colors (five colors), which is too boring to have a collection of them for one person, but would be good to give out to individuals.

The rubbery hair is fun to pull on and stretch out, and the heads do light up whenever you whack them, which is amusing for a while, but is too distracting to use as a writing instrument, in my opinion. In addition, the Ooglee head makes them top-heavy in the hand when writing. They are silly and unique, though, and so they're fun party favors or prizes, stocking or Easter basket stuffers, etc.

I do like the Inkology Zoo highlighters, though; they are cuter and more useful.

Don't LIGHT UP! May 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Neat looking pens, but don't light up. When I opened the box they were all blinking and looked really awesom, but when I tried to make them light up individually, they wouldn't. Very disappointing! Should have returned them, but didn't. So if you are expecting them to light up....I would advise not to purchase these.

These are cute pens that I bought for prizes for my students. About 1/3 of them do not light up. Besides that they're pretty cute!
