This is an extremely inexpensive notebook briefcase and I did not have great expectations when I ordered it. I've used it once on a round trip domestic flight. It easily fits under the seat, even when it is stuffed to its limited capacity. You can strap it on to a wheeled carry-on bag, threading the handle of this laptop case to rest it on the front of the carry-on bag. It will hold a 15.4 inch laptop and a couple of file folders in the main compartment, with some smaller items and maybe a magazine or two in the mesh compartments and inner pocket that face the main compartment. The outer, flapped compartment can hold some smaller items too, like gloves, N-95 mask, and flashlight, but doing that slightly strains the velcro that keep the pocket closed. The reverse side has an outer pocket that held a hardbound book and folder newspaper. Shoulder strap attachments are made of plastic. Zippers can lock, but are very cheap feeling and I fear the zipper will not hold up over time. It is an OK bag but I will not use it again to carry my laptop. That is because I have a sense that the shoulder strap or handle will break at some point before long, dropping my computer in the process. So I am using the bag as a briefcase minus the laptop because it looks nice, and with a imitation leather exterior it will protect documents and files from the weather. I'm using a stronger strap that I cannibalized from another bag. I'd give this bag a 6-12 month lifespan used as a briefcase and less time if you carry a laptop in it.

Decent inexpensive laptop case,

The Inland TitanPro Case is a good inexpensive option for a compact 15" notebook carry case. It has a nice looking imitation leather exterior and a good amount of storage. It can easily accommodate a 15" laptop with power adapter, memory cards, a pocket-size digital camera, several business cards, magazines, 4 pens/pencils and some documents. The laptop has decent padding on the top and bottom of the case to protect your laptop but I feel it's lacking on the sides. I also wish the case had some more rigidity to it, it's kinda flimsy, especially on the sides. The zippers are more sturdy-looking than many I've seen on other cases and the outside looks very durable. The inside is less so, I have a feeling the stitching for the large inside pocket will come apart easily it you really load it up.
While there are many nicer, more capable, and better-built bags out there this is a good inexpensive option. I've seen it in retail stores for $20 which usually gets you a cheap piece of junk. This bag is very nice looking on the outside, compact, and well laid-out to hold a lot of stuff. The exterior seems durable, the inside less so. |
