4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice indeed!
I think the other review may be a bit off. This is not a one star album at all. If you know Hans-Joachim Roedelius' albums, you will find a lot to like about this. Piano, much like that of Harold Budd, and some really great cello passages coming in and out over the music.
This is perfect music to work to, whatever you may be doing.

1.0 out of 5 stars The New Tim Story
As a long time fan of Tim Story's music, I was terribly disappointed with "Inlandish." Story has been a master of crafting melodious passages that evoke contemplative moods in the listener. Previous CDs, from "Threads" to "Caravan," are among my favorite instrumental works. But Story's recent collaborations with Roedelius sound like experiments in "electronica," done...

4.0 out of 5 stars Roedelius - 'Inlandish' (High Wire Music) 4 1/2 stars, September 20, 2010
This review is from: Inlandish (Audio CD)
Third collaboration between Hans-Joachim Roedelius and U.S. composer Tim Story. Basically, a good low-key German electronic effort. Tunes that I was most impressed with were title cut "Inlandish", "Ripple And Fade", the awesome "Rooftree" and "House Of Glances" and the unreal "Befrost" (will make your hair stand on it's end). Overall, 'Inlandish' has a true beautifully eerie 'vibe' to it. Should pull in fans of Cluster, Aphex Twin, Brian Eno and Air.

Previous CDs, from "Threads" to "Caravan," are among my favorite instrumental works. But Story's recent collaborations with Roedelius sound like experiments in "electronica," done for the sake of creating unusual sounds -- sounds which in my view lack soul or feeling.

But as musical tastes are subjective, let me advise the reader that "Inlandish" has received many good reviews in Europe, and it may well be that you will enjoy this CD. Just be prepared for something dramatically different from great music like "The Perfect Flaw."
