1.0 out of 5 stars not what I ordered
I ordered the Inner Child Cards "cards" not book about the cards....what came is a green book that does not look anything like the represented item...which talked about the "cards" and had colored pictures of the different cards. This book is in black and white and has no cards with it. I am very unhappy that the item represented was not sent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful! Insightful! Beautiful!, October 22, 1998

The first time I slipped these cards from their box and flipped through them, I laughed out loud with delight! The Inner Child Cards are based on traditional Tarot utilizing the very familiar characters of fairytales (i.e., the Devil is represented by the Big Bad Wolf). The result is a deck which connects readily with our natural sense of insight and intuition. This deck does not contain harsh images and is appropriate for young people. The artwork is gorgeous! It has certainly helped me reconnect with the little girl inside, as well as providing helpful and accurate readings for adults and children alike. If you are a light-hearted and optimistic person/reader, you will love this deck, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars A beutiful and insightful deck., August 27, 2000
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
I first saw this deck in a new age shop, and bought it on a whim - it was so beutiful I just couldnt leave it in the shop.

[that was a mistake - I would have paid half the price had I ordered it through Amazon.com, using air-mail shipping]

The cards are very beutiful, drawn in soft pastel colours, and the deck is worth it's price for the art itself, if nothing else. The cards are large, which gives room to the detailed art, which makes it a bit hard to shuffle the cards.

The book is excellent - every card gets a couple of pages of explanations, which retell the relevant fairytale shortly with a brief psychological explanation, and explains the card's meaning clearly.

The cards and book come in a quality box. The cards are smaller than the book, so they come in a box with internal cardbox walls that detach easily - my only complaint. I have a problem finding either a bag or a wood box the size of the cards.

I think this is a *great* deck, and highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Insightful Tarot Deck, October 14, 2000
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
I have used this deck for both Psychic Faires and for personal use. It is most helpful in drawing out inner psychic awareness without having experienced tarot readers relying on preset ideas of what specific cards are "supposed" to mean. My only complaint is that the oversized cards often make it difficult to carry on a daily basis. Best deck I have found to date!!

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent intuitive tool., July 22, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
The deck is beautifully illustrated with delightful colors and detail. While not your "typical" tarot deck, it is similar enough to be familiar to an experienced tarot reader. The major arcana are represented by characters from various ancient children's stories. This set is somewhat complicated to learn initially, but is an excellent tool for intuitive guidance and contact with the inner child which lives in each of us. It is also useful in examining the various fairy tales and stereotypes our culture presents us with as children. While beneficial spiritually with adults, it is also one of the few tarot decks I feel comfortable in using for and with children

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, September 10, 2001
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
I received my first Tarot deck 20 years ago and I have been looking for a new deck for 2 or 3 years. Nothing really impressed me enough to make a purchase until I saw these cards; I bought them immediately after only seeing a few of the pictures. I have not been disappointed; they are beautiful. I have used them several times with friends and everyone's reaction is the same: enchantment. These cards are perfect for working with children and for working with adults who haven't forgotten the magic and wonder of myths, legends and fairy tales.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
First of all, finding the book and cards was wonderful, and being able to purchase a 'used' copy that was still in the original shrink wrap, was even better.

The quality of the book is first class. I would purchase again from the seller cahlin. The package arrived earlier than anticipated and in top notch condition. The book is everything that I expected and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Older Version of deck is a must have!, August 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Inner Child Cards: A Journey into Fairy Tales, Myth and Nature (Hardcover)
I own both the new and older versions of the Inner Child Cards. The older versions are far superior in production quality. The cardstock quality is super better and so is the gloss finish... uber durable.

For the most part the LWB that comes with this deck is the same as the new version, there is one exception and I think the older version doesn't include a spread found in the newer version.

I do notice that the color of the older version is not as intense as the newer one, but it still a delightfully colorful deck.

This deck is packed with deep psychological insight and still retains its prowess in prediction. I prefer the old deck as the LWB comes in a hardcover book which lasts longer than the newer paperback.

Of course I'm a lover of these cards as I've bought 5 copies of this deck over time.. just in case they go out of print I will always have this deck by my side.
