Nice and slow...Booming and banging, July 2, 2002
This review is from: Inner Child (Audio CD)
"Inner child," by Shanice, is the best album that I have ever heard. Shanice has her words soft and slow when she wants you to get that loving feeling, but then pumps it up when she wants you to vibe. The best song on this album has got to be "Forever In Your Love" because it is who Shanice is, very demanding and upfront, but soft and tender at the same time. Her remake of Minnie Ripperton's classic hit "Loving You" is very well done. Shanice puts her own emotions into the song, and the listener will be able to notice it. Shanice is a new first-time mother, but I would not mind her getting back into the studio. Her self-titled album, "Shanice," 1997 or 1998, was very impressive, but it is "Inner Child" that puts the boom in the base. "You Didn't Think I Come Back This Hard" displays Shanice's rap skills while at the same time getting the listener (and other artists) to not take her vocal skills lightly. Oh yes, I don't have to mention the track that really got this album noticed..."I Love Your Smile." The was, and probably will be Shanice's signature song. "Inner Child"...(you) buy it. You will not regret it.

This album is off the hook!, April 22, 2000
This review is from: Inner Child (Audio CD)
Inner Child is one of my favorite CD's. Depsite if it's old. It's still tight. "Keep your Inner Child Alive (Interlude)" is the first interlude on the album. The next song is "I Love Your Smile", which was an uptempo hit back in '91. "I'm Cryin'" was also a hit. Track 5 is one of my favorites, it's called "I Hate To Be Lonely". It's such a beautiful ballad. "Stop Cheatin' On Me" is tight. It's one of them songs that stay in your head. "Silent Prayer" was another hit from this album. Everyone should be listening to "Peace In The World". Let's stop the violence! Shanice remade Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You". "You Ain't All That" get's in your head. Shanice & Mookie Meet Homey is a skit with Homey the Clown. LOL, yeah right. It's funny though. Shanice shows she's back with "You Didn't Think I'd come Back This Hard". "You Were The One" is another beautiful ballad. It made me cry. A lot of these songs relate to my love life. The next song makes you dance! It's "I Love Your Smile (Hakeem's Mix). The album ends with "Goodnight (Interlude)", a music box outro. If you love the songs from the early '90's, then I would recommend this to you. It's good.

Nelly's baby Gurl, June 5, 2003
This review is from: Inner Child (Audio CD)
This Cd is so, so beautiful. I first heard Shanice when I was around three years old. The highlights are: I love your smile( it has that early 90's feeling to it, back when music was at its best) Silent Prayer( once you hear this song, it will make you think about someone you love) and the most beautiful, Lovin You( a remake of the 70's song)
