Thompson has created an album of peaceful, calming, beautiful music. I highly recommend this Healing Music (this is part of the Healing Music series). It includes various sound frequency patterns that are known to cause positive changes in consciousness. This 'brainwave entrainment' is especially effective at improving mood and calming if you listen to it with headphones, but the music is also quite enjoyable on speakers.

The artist has succeeded in applying scientific as well as artistic principles to create music that soothes and relaxes. It is especially good for background music while doing relaxation exercises or receiving a massage.

... However, this is a wonderful piece of music. I use to listen to this to put me to sleep but now I listen to it as I would any great piece of music. The part where the woodwind comes in (about 5 mins. in) is one of the most gorgeous passages I've heard in modern music.

Inner Dance is very useful for relaxation. I also found it very useful as a brain attack (stroke) patient to aid cognitive recovery. I highly recommend it for that purpose.

Inner Dance had excatly what I wanted. There are only two songs (a little over 30 minutes each) that set the mood for relaxation and meditation. One thing I like about the 2 songs of 30 minutes each (rather than 6-7 songs) is the continuous flow of quiet sound and music without interruption. And the booklet that accompanied the CD was informative. I am glad I made the purchase and would do so again.
