Great Band, Great Music,

My favourite little secret - you have to check out this Australian band. Headed up by that guy from the Lucksmiths, the Guild League is the greatest thing to happen to the acoustic guitar.Not very technical, just beautiful little pop gems in every track. With lyrics like "you and I collied like atoms/with every new unclear reaction" (The Guild League - Scientists). They're almost like a happy Iron and Wine. If you like Jack Johnson, G.Love...or any bands that use the acoustic guitar as their main instrument, you'll love the Guild League. I don't know how I missed out on them for so long, and I'm so happy to have found them. Quick! Make the Guild League your new little secret too.

I have to agree with the previous post... I'm astounded that this album isn't getting airplay anywhere other than KEXP. Thankfully, being in Seattle, that is how I came across Guild League. I only heard half of the first track "Animals" and immediately knew I had to get the CD. I still think its the best track on the CD, but the rest of the album isn't too far behind. Everybody I've let borrow this CD ends up listening to it for a few days straight at least!Do yourself a favor and pick this one up... for $16 its a steal... my local CD shop wanted $32 for this same disc! |
