The BEST diet and cook book,

The Inner Peace Diet by Aileen McCabe-Maucher and Hugo Maucher is an unusual cook book and an unusual diet book and an unusual exercise book, for it covers all three in a most unique and helpful way, IF you are open to the unusual. The authors have excellent qualifications for writing this book, as she is a registered nurse, clinical social worker, and nationally recognized mental health expert. He is a professional chef and former restaurant owner. Together they have combined all the best advice for inner peace by working with your body, opening the chakra system (or energy centers) through yoga and special high energy natural foods. The chakra systems were identified by ancients as the rainbow within each of us, with each powerful and specific location in the body identified by a color and governing specific functions of mind/body/spirit. Simple yoga exercises and thought exercises are given in the book to be practiced for a week while eating foods of the color associated with the particular chakra. Delicious recipes were designed by Hugo for each week's practice. If you follow the six week program in the book you will definitely experience high energy and be well on your way to attaining your proper weight and life enhancing daily practices. EXCELLENT!!

Don't be scared away by the word "diet" in this book title. The book is filled with awesome recipes for healthy, and very tasty, food. The suggestions for finding your inner peace through yoga and meditation exercises are a great addition and make this MUCH more than a book that can strictly be categorized as a diet book or recipe book.

Well I am at week three and I have lost three pounds. I fit into a dress that I bought two years ago and wore it today. The food journaling is helpful in connecting my thoughts and feelings about food. This weeks theme of yellow is increasing my awareness of my personal sense of identity. I have improvised the food intake to suit my lifestyle with focusing on the colors of food and consuming more of that color in my daily diet for each week. The yoga poses are reflective as I open to each center in a more grounded physical way. I picked the easiest recipe for week one, the sinful baked apples and shared it for the Jewish New Year as it is tradition to eat apples with honey for a sweet year with none of the bitter. The yogurt and honey glaze was a new idea for me and I will use it more often in baking treats. The pumpkin fudge is on my list to make next. The main thing I want to share is just get started with this and make it easy and enjoyable. I had an asparagus omelet for lunch today so I feel successful with my diet because the colors are matching my energy center focus for the week. I plan to use this book as a tool for healthy eating for the rest of my life. This is a must for spiritual seekers on the path to truth as we raise our consciousness to embrace our thought life as our food we eat. What are we thinking and eating.Its an absolute delightful journey to think of colors and vibrancy being our food. Here's to the inner peace diet at three weeks ,I wonder what seven will be .

I highly recommend this book! The concepts are VERY well presented, and I love that it's about nourishing the whole body with food, relaxation, rejuvenation, and energy. The first month we stocked it in our church bookstore, we sold 3 or 4 copies. And one woman said she "effortlessly" lost 10 lbs. following it!

This book, The Inner Peace Diet: Attain Permanent Weight Loss and Pure Bliss in 7 weeks, is a nice idea. There are some points in it that are very helpful for someone who is ready to focus on mindfulness and weight loss. Unfortunately, one would have to either hire a personal chef or take seven weeks and literally stay at home in order to adhere to the diet. There are some wonderful recipes but to follow the plan would require taking a chunk of time away from everyday life and only focusing on the diet. I will use it for reference but will look to other sources for ideas that are more realistic.
