5.0 out of 5 stars Peaceful indeed--an essential for the bedroom
Ok, I admit it, I lead a stressful life. My work is intense and I get wound up. In order to turn OFF the brain before sleeping, I almost always play this particular CD. The tracks lead you down a path of increased relaxation to the final track, which is related to the singing bowls of "The Chakhra Suite." This last set of scales in pure tones is absolutely the right thing...

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid Work
This is a perfectly good body of work, however, for meditation, I need sustained sound. The fact that the songs end so often is off-putting and interupts the flow that one is trying to achieve while listening to music of this type. If the songs blended into one another, it would be a more invaluable addition to my collection.

Ok, I admit it, I lead a stressful life. My work is intense and I get wound up. In order to turn OFF the brain before sleeping, I almost always play this particular CD. The tracks lead you down a path of increased relaxation to the final track, which is related to the singing bowls of "The Chakhra Suite." This last set of scales in pure tones is absolutely the right thing to end the set, and I find that I am floating gently on a cloud of pleasant thoughts by the end of this album.

The "Sleep Soundly" CD is better if you want to drop off to music. I find "Inner Peace" is good for refreshment during the day as well as before bed. Hardly anyone does this kind of relaxation music better than Halpern. Some music is more beautiful, but Halpern knows how to write music that enhances your brain alpha waves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inner Peace Found!, April 20, 2004

Steven Halpern is a new artist to me. I haven't heard or listened to his music in the past, but I came across Inner Peace while searching for a nice yoga/meditation cd. I thought at first, "This looks like it'd work." Now that I have listened to it, I have no regrets for purchasing it. It was worth every penny and the music was unpredictable. Gentle, calm, and soothing to its listeners, this cd has become a crucial element in developing peace and relaxing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Relaxation CD!, October 4, 2003

The best way to listen to this CD is with headphones, especially the last track. I also listen to this at night (without headphones) before I go to sleep-it definitely helped ease my anxiety while being unemployed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Waves of pleasant music for the mind and spirit, October 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Inner Peace (Audio CD)
Melodies of the mind and spirit flow in waves. Your heart is transported somewhere out beyond the solar system. I recommend this music to anyone wanting to reach a state of tranquil reflection. If you want a heart-pounding beat or the jangle of electronic guitars, you won't find it in this album. But if you crave a place to mellow your world, tune in and fly away.

This is music for the soul. Meditate to it, stretch to it, write to it. I have it as background music while I do all of the above. Makes my long hours of writing more enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different versions of this album available!, June 17, 2007

Just a quick note to let any prospective buyers know that there are different versions of this 2002 album out on the market; the one displayed here offers nine tracks (see full list above), while the one I received actually offers eleven tracks (as listed below):

- Inner Peace
- Travelling Among the Stars
- Angels of Peace (not included in the version displayed above)
- On Walden Pond
- A Touch of Grace
- Deep Peace
- Heartnotes (not included in the version displayed above)
- Sanctuary of the Heart
- Unknow Country
- Time Being I
- Time Being II (not included in the version displayed above)

The tracks that are obviously missing from this other edition are Faerie Ring and Inner Journeys. Also, note that there is actually a 1984 album from Steven Halpern with the same title (Inner Peace) which contains 13 different tracks, so it's quite easy to be confused about this...

Apart from this, the music is of course lovely. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended for Relaxation & Meditation . . ., December 9, 2000
This review is from: Inner Peace (Audio CD)
Wonderful for relaxation and meditation - highly recommended! Steven Halpern's genius is in creating music to set moods and elicit relaxation. Inner Peace is just such a piece! Music to set a quiet, relaxing background for deeply peaceful contemplation and meditation, or just for quiet, gentle introspection . . . Gary L. Flegal, Ph.D., Professional Stress Management Services.
