5.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Treasure
I first read excerpts from this book when I ran across the author's website on AOL. The poetry in this book show that life is not just a smooth, straight line. It goes up and down with everyday experiences. The poems range from light and playful to deep and thoughtful.

2.0 out of 5 stars Advertised in a bathroom stall . . . how appropriate
Going to the bathroom at a local public university I found one of Ms. Jack's poems taped to the stall door telling me to buy her new book here. Frankly, a seventh grade girl who has listened to way too much Christina Aguilera could write more profoundly moving poetry. The poem displayed "Love and Death" was insipid and banal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inner Voice of Poetry, February 11, 2004

This review is from: The Inner Voice (Paperback)
Writing poetry is putting your heart and emotions on your sleeve. Poetry is a personal writing that uses a person's inner being to give it a voice. Ms. Jack does that with her eclectic collection of poetry.

The author breaks the book of poetry in to several distinctive sections: In the beginning, there was a ...; Middle Ground...; And then there was...; Looking for; A sip before a drink; and The choice was made. A couple of stand out poems are: This Should Not be, Oh, So Heavy, I am a Ladybug, Imagine a world, and Inner Voice. These poems stand out for their ability to make you think, smile, laugh and love. They are beautifully written and thought provoking.

Not all the poems are easily understood but the emotions the author is trying to convey are. If you are an avid fan of personal poetry, this collection will be just right for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll be glad you read it!, April 21, 2003

This review is from: The Inner Voice (Paperback)
This book is a great read for the mother that has a teenage daughter, for the single guy, and for the high school student. It is a book that anyone could enjoy. The poetry varies from romantic and sweet to hurt and angry. There's also plenty of inspiration between the lines. Overall, this is a great book about following one's own dreams and listening to your own inner voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book, December 2, 2002

This review is from: The Inner Voice (Paperback)
I read a review of this book in the PG Sentinel and decided to get a copy. It was a great book! I'm a college student and found that I could identify with many of the themes and poetry in this book. My mom and some of her friends enjoyed the book also. It was very mature poetry, with profound insights. I like inspirational websites and found a few of her poems on Motivating Moments. Jenelle's poetry is like Ashanti's new poetry-down to earth. Overall, five stars!
