Great Underrelease Score, July 27, 2004
This review is from: Innerspace (Audio CD)
Although the songs on this album are okay, and certainly added flavor to the movie, the real gem is Jerry Goldsmith's fantastic score.
Although some criticize it for being derivitive, I find that it is still a classic example of Goldsmith's action/adventure/scifi scoring that was prevalent in the 80s and 90s.
It is also an extremely enjoyable score, and in my opinion screams for an expanded release, aka Varese Sarabande's Total Recall Special Edition.

Innerspace Soundtrack, April 23, 2011
This review is from: Innerspace (Audio CD)
Great 80's movie, and a great 80's music soundtrack to go along with it. I am stoked to have a copy of Narada Michael Walden's "Is It Really Love," as well as Rod Stewart's 1987-version of "Twistin' The Night Away." Also, for those who are wondering Wang Chung song "Hypnotize Me" on the soundtrack is actually a different version than you will find on ITunes or on their greatest hits album.

Another great, yet incomplete score., September 5, 2008
This review is from: Innerspace (Audio CD)
Can't say I hate this score in anyway except for the fact that it's got only slice and dices of the film score included.
I was so excited to finally get this one too. Looked for ages. But I recently rewatched the film and heard new tunes. New to me, and definitely new to this compilation.
On a hunch I went researched an expanded edition and sure enough; there is one. It's of course a bootleg but there is over an hours worth of Goldsmith score on that disc. I may have to grab that one too...<sigh>
Why they do this I'm not sure. It's so prevalent it's disgusting. As if we as humans wont recognize incompletion when we don't hear it. heh Or maybe they do know. Do know how much some might love a specific aspect of the medium and go for it. So much that we would go for it 2, maybe 3 times. Everytime forking over a wee bit more money for the exact same thing; with extra tidbits on the side...
As for this. It's got good score and tunes. They all represent the film greatly. I had to go and find a song to make it closer to complete; Sam Cooke's version of Twistin' the Night Away. But doing that is something else I'm used to.
If you like the film, you'll like this disc too. If you need all the music, this may not be for you. Grab this for a major hunk of it. But you'll need to go elsewhere for ALL of it.
