Editorial Reviews

Innerwar has first been released in 1996 and still remains as one of the outstanding titles in the BDN catalogue - the title track "Innerwar" shows how far BDN is able to push the limits. There are none. The most disturbing, extreme and aggressive CD of BDN is now available to shock new generations of listeners or give old listeners the chance to refresh their mind about the disturbance BDN has created. With all new digipack artwork, Innerwar is an essential classic to all collections in the industrial, power electronic and noise scene. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whew!, March 25, 2001

What a truly terrifying CD! This is an aural mesh of noise, rythms and out right scariness! Definately not for the feign of heart. This is mostly a very textural and noisy release, but it is very visual and graphic. Easily one of the most frightening CDs I have heard in ages. Probably as good for scaring little children as it is for staging disturbing images during your own dream time. Caveat Emptor! http://www.killdevil.com

4.0 out of 5 stars Pure raw Death Industrial!, April 7, 2001
This review is from: Innerwar (Audio CD)
The grimmest sounding nightmare from the Death Industrial monster delights us with sounds and drones from beyond the ordered physical reality! BDN's "Inner War" is a delight to listen during one of those misanthropic nights or when you just want to get your head burned by the sounds of torturing machines or want you mind to fly away! (although Raison D'être and Sephiroth would do a better job at that)

As with every single BDN album, this is for really open minded people. This is not "music" at all, this is Industrial noise, and if you happen to sense any melody, remember it is pure machine like, and most likely you are making up the melody! (It is true! Some melodies in this kind of music are intentional, but others are not)

May All be Dead!

4.0 out of 5 stars Harsh and unforgiving, January 12, 2000

(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Innerwar (Audio CD)
This is easily the harshest release from Roger Karmanik. Brighter Death Now specializes in all things unpleasant and usually sounds like lost DAT recordings from a horror show. This is a lot scarier than the Blair Witch Project, because not only what you can't see can hurt you, you also can't help but hear it rushing toward you. And while you know BWP was a hoax, you can't help but know this is very real. His first domestic CD, Innerwar is the equivalent of the aural slaughterhouse, of someone pulling his hair out (and then maybe his teeth). Not for the squeamish.
