An exceptional freshman effort from Electric Youth, the release brings back nostalgic feelings of 80's synthpop, but Bronwyn Griffin's ethereal voice soothes while Austin Garrick provides positive and uplifting sounds that mix the mentioned synthpop with electronica and instrumentals. While there is certainly something familiar about the cd, there is also a fresh feeling, that despite the nostalgic sound, it's also not something you would have found in the era it seems to mimic. As Garrick has stated himself, the sounds found here are not simply odes to a decade past, but a look to a future where Electric Youth's sound is fresh and feels new among pop, indie, and electronica releases.

What sets this release apart for me is it's almost wholly uplifting and positive sound. There's something of a dose of drama, but nothing dark. Even in tracks like If All She Has Is You, you're motivated to feeling positive and let the soothing melodies wash over you. Electric Youth could not have come at a better time, with a unique sound that helps them stand out in the crowd.
