Purchased this to use on my Trek mountain bike. I installed the mounts on my 2007 Chevy 1500 very easily. I have used the Gripper about 12 times in the last month and I still cannot believe how snugly it holds my bike in an upright position. The bike does not wobble or move at all, even while cornering quickly or driving at highway speeds. I can easily lift my bike into the truck bed and within 30 seconds have it ready to transport. If I had to think of a negative... I would like a quick disconnect feature to remove the Gripper from the truck so I could quickly store it inside the vehicle when not in use to prevent theft. Overall, excellent product that definitely exceeded my expectations.

Update 02/22/13 - I have had this now for about a year. Still very happy with it. I have not had any paint peeling or rusting that another reviewer mentioned. I sold my Trek and bought a Santa Cruz Heckler. I adjusted the gripper to fit my new bike in less than a minute, and it holds the bike very securely. My wife has a Ridley road bike that I have used it for a few times. Just a few seconds to adjust the mounts and her bike is very secure. It is also really nice to be able to leave the wheels on during transport. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

This was a nice addition to my current rack in the back of my truck. The rear end of my road bike would move around during drives and would lean over. I have this set up now and it is rock solid. I would make the extensions to seat posts longer but works fine. It also helps with my mtn bike too!

The great thing about this is that it's really easy to set up and use. It takes just a few minutes to mount it and then you can carry your bike without removing the wheel. The main down-side is that if your pickup bed has a wheel-hump, you have to screw the adjustable arms almost all the way out to clear it, then it starts getting a little bit dicey because the bike can put a lot more strain on the arms when they're all the way out. Also, if you have a sensor for a speedometer on the front fork, if it happens to be at the same level as the front strap, you'll have to move it, or switch the bike to the other side of the truck bed. It seems fairly expensive for what it is, but it works OK. I've had mine for a month through several rains and no paint or rust problems.

I've owned the Inno Velo Gripper Truck Bed Bike Rack for Standard Pickups for approximately 30 days and have used it several times. In fact, I've just ordered a second set for my wife's bike. I've been using the grippers on a 2003 Ford F-150 6' bed with no problems.

So far, I have been happy with the product. My mountain bike is very secure when using this product. It does not seem to move during normal driving, even when driving quickly around turns. For even more security on bumpy roads or trails, I recommend using a couple of bungee cords attached to the bike and the truck bed's tie down loops to keep the bike from bouncing up & down. While I don't think the bouncing will hurt the bike, I am concerned the grippers will fatigue and crack over time if this movement is not prevented.

On great feature about this product is the size. It is very small and can be stored easily in the garage or the truck. This is important because unfortunately, people have ample opportunity to steal bike racks when your vehicle is parked and you'll be on the trails for hours! It is also nice simply because it doesn't take up much room. Many bike racks are large, heavy, and awkward to store.

My only complaint with this product is the threaded clamps used for installation/removal. I know it only takes a couple of minutes to attached and detach, but it seems like a faster option could be used (such as a bar or trigger clamp.) All in all, this is a minor annoyance rather than a product problem but I still feel installation/removal takes longer than it should, thus I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.

This is a great rack, once you set it up to the bicycle all you have to do is place the bike to it and lock it down, take about ten seconds.....I leave it on the truck all the time.

Best truck bike "rack" I've owned. Holds bike very solidly close to the side of the bed. I can lift the bike over the side and secure very quickly. No need to drop the tailgate or climb in. Leaves most of the truck bed available for cargo or just keeps the back of the truck clean. Build very well. Highly recommended! (see my uploaded images)

Installation was fairly easy, taking about 15 minutes, including a couple of bed rail location adjustments to optimize the fit. It holds the bike stiffly, preventing sideways movement but needs to be located so the front wheel is hard against the front end of the bed (or in my case, against the tool box), to prevent axial movement during starts and stops. The only complaint I have other than the price, is the length of the supports. In my truck (Dodge 3/4-ton with 8' bed), I really need about another 1" on the stays to allow my crank chain ring to safely clear the (bedliner covered) wheel arch in the bed. I actually have to angle the bike by a few degrees to prevent contact with the bedliner.

Also, I leave mine permanently installed so It will be interesting to see if the rubber clamp arrangement can withstand the heat of an Oklahoma summer.

Dave
