5.0 out of 5 stars Innocence Lost? by Debbie Mahoney
Innocence Lost? Protecting Your Child From The Trauma of Abuse by Debbie Mahoney ISBN: 1890613096

At last, someone has written a no nonsense book about how to protect your children from sexual abuse. Parents, teachers, child care workers, Police, and City Leaders, "Innocence Lost?" should be in your homes, schools and public offices. Debbie Mahoney's...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written, very little useful information
This is one of the worst books I've read about child abuse. The content is poorly written and not well organized. On the plus side, it is one of the only books that addresses the dangers of the Internet to children. However, its original content, if properly edited and in a typical type size, would take up about half of an index card. I wouldn't recommend the book...

5.0 out of 5 stars Innocence Lost? by Debbie Mahoney, April 4, 2000
This review is from: Innocence Lost ? Protecting Your Child from the Trauma of Abuse (Paperback)

Debbie Mahoney's personal experience with the abuse of her son by a neighbor, has led her on a 10 year, world wide journey that has given her great insight into protecting children from sexual assault.

The book is filled with techniques on how to protect your children or help them if they've already been abused. Debbie includes URL's, hot line numbers and Web Sites which offer more information to help in the fight against child abuse.

Thank you Debbie for your efforts on behalf of the children.

This review is from: Innocence Lost ? Protecting Your Child from the Trauma of Abuse (Paperback)
Innocence Lost has some very good information for the first time parent and their children on the Internet. I recommend this book for any one that has children using the Internet and how to follow to links to protect their children. At times it was a little confusing for the person not knowing the case but does not take away from the value of the great information Ms. Mahoney provides for parents concerning about their safety of children and use of the Internet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderfully informative guide, September 29, 2000
This review is from: Innocence Lost ? Protecting Your Child from the Trauma of Abuse (Paperback)
The sad truth about today's world is that it's a very dangerous place to live -- a world where children are at risk of being abused from people they don't know, and from people involved in their everyday lives. It's unfortunate that the author's son and family had to personally experience this danger, but we are grateful that she is sharing her knowledge.

Parents now have a "weapon of knowledge" in the book "Innocence Lost: Protecting Your Child from the Trauma of Abuse" -- a weapon that will give them the tools they need to better protect their children. With this book you'll learn about a pedophile's documented behavior and how they gain a child's trust; online and offline community dangers will be identified for you; and you'll be given safety tips for both you and your children to follow. In addition, "Innocence Lost?" provides a large listing of online and off-line resources relating to child safety.

[..] commends Debbie Mahoney for her involvement in child safety, and highly recommends this very informative guide to their visitors, and anyone who cares about children and keeping them safe. "Innocence Lost?" easily gives you that ability.
