Product Description

Innocent is about an angel and a psychopath who become best friends. They fight evil born in hell and the earth-grown kind. Innocent is a smart, action-packed story that sprinkles in a few laughs. Two complete opposites who find that they've got more in common than they could guess. Innocent struggles to keep David in check, fearing that one day he'll go too far off the path for good. David knows that he could become Innocent's target if he let's himself free to pursue his desires. David doesn't know how close Innocent has been to becoming what he hates most. Innocent collects the "Innocent" web-comic from 2006-2007 plus more than 57 pages of new story that hasn't been previously available on-line. See what Broken Frontier calls "...a wild, unforeseen and honestly unforgettable gem of a book..." and Foreword Magazine says "...well-illustrated, splendidly written, packed with action, and fun to read."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Graphic Novel at its best., November 6, 2007
By Melanie (Southern, California) - See all my reviews
I've been a fan of this writer's work for years and with this volume he's pushed himself to an even higher level of craft. The story blends those wonderful elements of darkness, art, and drama. It's both entertaining and thought provoking. Can't recommend it highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic and Mayhem, March 30, 2008
Part Captain Britain, part Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and part Highway to Heaven (in a weird, brutal, absurd kind of way), Innocent is the story of a fallen angel who teams up with a bald, burly sociopath to set the world right. Yet where the divine duo of the early-eighties morality drama rarely found it necessary to parse the shades of gray that linger between good and evil, the basic tension that drives Innocent forward is that the title character is anything but that which his name implies. Yes, he can sniff out evildoers with uncanny precision, but his methods for bringing said evildoers to justice borders on... well, evil. As the fallen angel eventually laments, "It's hard to fathom peace while looking through bloody eyes." Wry commentary on American foreign policy, perhaps? Equal parts magic and mayhem, the book reads like a frenetic walking tour through the graphic styles of classic indie comics from the late-eighties and early nineties.
