It's a special order, but I love the track listing so I had to buy it. And it's hard for me to say how this Stereo-only Super Audio CD compares to the CD because I dont own it. It's good, tho I just didnt feel blown away like I have been with my other SACD experiences eg. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Maybe it's because it was produced in 1998 and they hadn't perfected it back then. Dont get me wrong, "For the Longest Time" shows how it's still better than CD, but only marginally compared to other transfers.

My advice may be to hold off on buying until they re-mix the SACD and add 5.1 surround mix.

Why is this not a multi channel mix???? Laziness? They took the time to do 52nd St and The Stranger that way...why give this one the shaft?

I just have to comment on my perception of a snobishness in comments about multi vs 2 ch sacd's. I have two systems in use in my home both utilizing sacd. A surround system using klipsh speakers, onkyo reciever, sony sacd/dvd player, with direct multi ch. connections. And a stereo only carver amp,preamp/tuner, klipsh rf-7's, a sony sacd multiplayer, and of course a turntable for the indisposable lp collection (not used much). I honestly enjoy the carver sys. more then the 5.1 for music only. Great natural sound stage, too often 5.1 is over mixed and just a gimmick, distorting or taking away from a true feeling of being in the event, it's not about how many places you can make a horn/string/drum seem to be but how real it seems. Having said that, what is really important is the great quality jump sacd gives us over cd, how 'real' not how dispersed is the stage we are in.
