5.0 out of 5 stars See the world as it looked in 1869!, May 21, 2004

This review is from: Innocents Abroad/Roughing It (The Library of America) (Hardcover)
Mark Twain shows us Europe and the Holy Land at a time when countries were exotically different, before everything became more and more homogeneous. His humor is fun entertainment, but the book also gives us a freeze frame of the world more than a century ago. Great reading, for all -- those who have already traveled, those who wish to, or those who don't want to -- the point is to see the world through humor, with such unusual perspectives that you can't find anywhere else!
