5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to be an opportunity seeker, this is it!, April 3, 2000
This review is from: The Innovation Formula: How Organizations Turn Change into Opportunity (Business Strategist Series) (Paperback)
I would rank this book side by side with Edward de Bono's "Opportunities: A Handbook of Business Opportunity Search". I have read both books in the late 80's.

In the field of deliberate opportunity search, these are the only three books that have been written on the subject, as far as I know. This is one of them.

Strategy-wise, and from the strategic business/competitive perspective, this book has an EDGE over the other two books in the genre.

The theme of the book is making innovation a learnable, repeatable & disciplined business practice. In this respect, the author has done a great job. Additionally, he has also identified the ten opportunity-sensitive areas (or windows of opportunity) in business, and also outlined strategies and tips to help you work out your action plans to pursue them systematically. In a way, he has expanded on what Peter Drucker has covered earlier in the latter's book, 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship' in which the latter has identified only seven sources of innovative opportunities.

I have also read most of the author's other books. His forte is strategic thinking - more precisely, strategic exploration. Excellent stuff throughout, with penetrating insights and real-world examples to follow, and the author's writing is very crisp, succinct and clear, just like his other books.

If you want to be an opportunity seeker, please read this book!
