I am very happy with it and intend to turn out other knitted items made from panels in the near future.

They tell you to wind the yarn through the tensioner a certain way so it's not too loose or too tight.

Considering what other knitting machines cost I think that this is a great little machine for the price. It's easy to use and amazingly fast. I was able to knit a matching scarf and hat for a gift in about two hours the very first time I sat down to use it. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The process is very simple. Just load the yarn and turn the crank. I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants to make a bunch of hats and scarves really quickly. It also works with a lot of different kinds of yarn, so even though it's really only practically for two different projects, you can still make a lot of different kinds of hats and scarves.

I love my Innovations. I have knit a double knit baby afghan, fishnet stockings, shrug, and more and I have only had it 2 months! I am a complete yarnophile so I love to learn how to knit every way (machine, hand, loom). I HIGHLY suggest you look at the Yahoo Group Innovationsknitting for patterns, pictures of projects, tips & tricks, just friendly advice. I have quite a few pictures up as well.

Ok for $40 - what do you expect??? Yes, it only knits one stitch- but it's easy to assemble- I never read the instructions- seemed self explanatory.

First thing I knotted was a scarf. Fast- in 3 hours I had a scarf 5' long! Can I do that with needles- NO!

It does drop stitches but so do all knitting machines. I don't see myself making a sweater like they say- but for hats and socks and scarf's- it's a bargain!

it's fun and something new to try at a great price.

BTW- I got mine at hobby Lobby after I printer the 40% coupon- it only cost me $16- I guess that/s why I love thins thing!

I have read all the reviews that people do not like this machine, however, I purchased mine and absolutely love it! Granted, it did take some time to get acquainted with the quirks of knitting on it and it is VERY important that you have the correct yarn weights and tension; but I have used this machine with MUCH SUCCESS and pleasure.

The first few tries were frustrating, but like anything else, I just kept trying and now can turn out beautiful scarfs and hats at a FRACTION of the time it would take to knit with straight needles. The quality of the knitted pieces are great and with patience and an allowance for learning, anyone can turn out beautiful pieces of knitted items including panels to make shawls, sweaters, placemats, etc.

Instructions are sketchy at best, so I highly recommend going to You-Tube and search for "Innovations Knitting Machine". There are many videos that will help you with some of the various problems encountered such as binding off and keeping your stitches from dropping off the needles in the middle of a project. Also, there are several tips on picking up stitches and keeping your tension tight when knitting panels.

In my honest opinion, this machine is well worth the small price tag and would most definitely purchase another. I am very happy with it and intend to turn out other knitted items made from panels in the near future.

I bought the NSI International Innovations Knitting Machine as a way to relax and have fun while quickly knitting up projects as gifts or for charity. Oh my my my, what a mean joke they played on me.

As Napoleon Dynamite would say, this knitting machine is a decroated piece of cr@p. I found it so frustrating to work with I'm afraid my son's preschool will call me tomorrow to report all the new cuss words he learned from me this weekend.

Whoever wrote the manual needs to be shot. I'm a tech writer and this sort of thing drives me crazy. If you can't make the steps simple and the diagrams make sense or actually LOOK like the product, then don't bother!

Honestly, should something supposedly so easy and fun have THIS steep of a learning curve? It took me a good five tries to finally make a tube based on how they tell you to do it. Ooooh, ahhhh...

I also don't think I went more than three or four rows before it dropped a stitch. It was worst when making panels - stop for any reason (including to turn the other way), the yarn goes slack and then it drops two or three stitches. Ditto with cranking it slightly forward or backward to fix the yarn going slack on its own - again, drops the stitch. I admittedly am not an expert knitter and I still don't manage to drop as many stitches as the knitting machine does - because of this problem I can STILL knit faster than this thing because I'm too busy fixing the dropped stitches or saying @#$&! it, pulling the work off, unraveling it and then starting over again.

Don't get me started on how it loves to tear up the fibers on fuzzy yarns.

Speaking of yarn tension, that's a nightmare too. They tell you to wind the yarn through the tensioner a certain way so it's not too loose or too tight.

This product is great, I can knit faster than needles. I crochet and now I can make knitted item without learning to use the two needles. I bought 2 one for me and one for my mother. I just made my first project and can't wait to make more. The instructions are easy to follow and this machine is very addictive. Once you start it is hard to stop turning the crank.
