To answer a previous "reviewer's" question, myGOtv is manufactured by Innovative DTV Solutions, Inc. PO BOX 3365 Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670-9998

As to "why" the difference in price.

myGOtv
DISPLAY: 800 x 480 pixels native resolution, 500:1 contrast ratio
Axion
DISPLAY: 480 x 234 pixels native resolution, 400:1 contrast ratio
Haier
DISPLAY: 480 x 234 pixels native resolution, 300:1 contrast ratio

All one needs to do is find a store that carries the above brands (as well as Digital Prism, Eviant, Viore, Audiovox and others) and compare them side by side. It will then be visually obvious that there IS a noticeable difference between them. There is no comparison between the PQ of the myGOtv and any other 7" hand-held TV in the $79-$200 price range*, because the myGOtv PQ is far superior. It is even easy to read small print on the myGOtv, a task which is virtually impossible on 7" portables. If you are looking for a "wow," reaction when viewing a hand-held TV, this one will not disappoint. Google the differences in native resolution of portable TV's and you can see that the myGOtv is in a class of its own.

I highly recommend this TV. As noted by a previous reviewer, the only disappointment is the inferior quality of the built-in antenna. If Innovative Solutions finds an innovative solution to this poor design flaw and can construct a sturdier antenna, they will have the best deal available. That being said, I live in a rural area, and am able to receive 16 digital channels and 3 analog channels despite the "flimsiness" of the antenna.

*The AUVIO(tm) 7" High-Resolution Portable Digital TV, sold by Radio Shack, is also manufactured by Innovative DTV Solutions, and shares the same quality, but is marketed at a much higher price point. ($179)

I spent quite a bit of time looking for a small tv I could use at work..not so much for tuning into stations, but mostly for hooking up dvd players, game systems, etc.
There's a very good reason why this 7" tv is more expensive than any other in it's class..the resolution and color depth. Most 7-8" tv's, including the leading ones from Haier, etc, are a paltry 480x234 resolution..this MyGOtv is a nice, crisp 800x480p. That means you can actually read the text on dvd menus, etc. Also this tv has bright, nice colors..the picture never looks washed out or anything. I use it with many game systems, including PS2, Dreamcast, even my Xbox 360 and PS3..the games all look amazing, and because the TV is small you don't really notice that the 360 or PS3 isn't running in high-def. I was playing Mass Effect 2 the other day and it looks really good on this tv.

I do have one MAJOR complaint, though it's situational; there is no contrast/brightness control, and the tv is inherently low on the contrast. You can adjust the backlight brightness, but unfortunately this doesn't help the contrast issue..everything's just too dark. When watching dvds with a lot of dark scenes, for example Halloween 2, a good portion of the movie was unviewable..the entire screen was so dark I could barely make anything out. For bright scenes or videogames where you can adjust the contrast in-game, this TV has amazing picture quality, but it's disappointing that I'm limited to the movies I can watch on it. I called the manufacturer, Innovative DTV Solutions, and tried to explain my problem to them..the rep didn't seem to understand what I meant by 'no contrast control, the tv is too dark'..she just kept telling me that there is a brightness (backlight) control, which again, doesn't help the problem. Overall though, great little tv!

When I received my MYGOTV it said they had an extended 4 hour battery available. I called in November and they quoted me a price and said I would have to send a check. They called when they received the check and said the batteries are on backorder. I told them to keep my check and send my battery when received from backorder. It has been 3 months and they tell me they still have not received them. This is really hard to believe.

The best small Digital TV in its class!

We were looking for a digital tv to use when the weather is bad, power outages, and for camping. This TV fits the mold perfectly. While some folks don't like the small antenna that is built-in to the tv I think it's perfect. My experience both at home and in traveling with digital tvs is that the reception in an area falls into one of two categories; picks up all the channels with almost no antenna at all OR nothing works without a quality amplified antenna period. There are excellent amplified portable antennas that work wonderfully with this TV if you need it. The TV has an external antenna connection just for that purpose.

Functionally the TV works well with a good user interface and a responsive remote control. I like that it comes with a rechargeable battery and a soft case.

-The most significant differntiator associated with this TV is its resolution. Simply put the screen looks better that other 7" tv's out there. Typically the higher the resolution of the screen the more clearly you can read text on the screen. I can read small items like weather maps, stock market info, and storm warning info without glasses on this small screen.

For this price and size it's the best choice out there by far. Almost everyone will need one of those amplified antennas to get every channel in your area. This is not a limitation of the TV as much as a consequence of the change to the new ATSC broadcast medium.
