Having first heard the music of the Innovators back in 1996 on a WordPerfect promo CD, I was pleased to find a DVD of this incredible music in concert. This DVD is much more than just concert footage of some beautiful music. There are so many extras on the DVD that you wonder why the big studios can't do the same. There is narration before each song, an audio commentary by the Bestor and Cardon, a "you be the director", and much more!
About the music... If you are not inspired by this music, you must be already dead. Each piece is unique. It has it's own musical style. Each has passion and energy. It is a mixure of jazz, new age, and classical. This CD has always been on my Top 10 list, and now I can add the DVD to that, as well. Highly Recommended!!

Innovators has now made its way to DVD, from a recording of the show originally made for broadcast on public television. If the program itself were to have been transferred without additional material, this would still be a worthy purchase, but in keeping with the theme of the work, the release is worthy of the description "innovative." A complete multimedia experience, Innovators makes creative use of DVD technology, providing not only a wealth of educational supplemental material, but also a unique and interesting method for accessing that material.
If the eclectic, rhythmic, jazz/rock fusion stylings of the duo are to your taste, this is a disc that you will undoubtedly want to add to your collection. This disc, video quality aside, is a shining example of DVD technology used to its fullest potential, from the menu design to the powerful soundtrack, and stands as a point of reference for all future programs of this nature.

I first saw the Innovators performance on my local public television station several months ago. I loved it, and had to have a copy of it for my own video collection. I've been waiting for several months for it to come out on VHS. Finally my wait is over. The music is beautiful, and the narative facinating. Bestor and Cardon are wonderful together. This is a great video to put on and listen to loudly in stereo. I like to put it in while I'm making dinner, or cleaning the house, because the music is lovley and very relaxing, creating harmony in my home. Yes, I have the CD as well. But having the video is cool because you can watch it while you listen. And the sound quality is great. The dancing, singing and pictures you will see on the screen are inspirational, and moving. This is a must have. Buy it!

Of all music in my music collection, this CD and now DVD are my #1 VERY favorite! I thrill as much to it's beauty today as I did when I heard it when it was first released (a chance purchase). The architecture of rhythm and harmony is magnificent and moving. The music is diverse and shows the artists own innovative spirit and genius. The DVD was beautiful done and it is a pleasure to watch and enjoy.
I have given this CD/DVD to so many friends. If you love this, also try Seasons CD by Kurt. It is incredibly beautiful as well. I have long waited for more to come from these great artists.

This is a wonderful DVD, and the music IS great, BUT, it was NOT "Live" in Concert. I know, I was there, I was one of the TV crew that recorded it. The concert was held in the old "Osmond Studio" in Orem, Utah. There Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon were there, they were playing and conducting, the performers DID perform, the orchestra DID play, the audience DID enjoy it, BUT there was NOT a single "Live" microphone on the stage. All we recorded was the video, it was synched up in post with the original studio recordings. SO Buy the DVD, you will not regret it, BUT you are NOT hearing a recording of a "Live" concert.
