5.0 out of 5 stars An innovative collection of music
From the first track to the last, this cd will captivate you. It is an emotional rollercoaster that ends on a note of hope. I was able to listen to the first release in 1993 which only had eleven tracks. Only a couple years ago Bestor and Cardon went back and added two more to further enrich this masterpiece. I highly recommened it to any lover of music.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Soothing
This CD, which includes ONE song from Rhonda Byrnes 'The Power', really has a lot of great music on it. This CD introduced me to Mr. Bestor who really has new age-style talent in his music. Not as good as Yanni and Enya, but good all the same. Without listening to 'The Power' and writing down the credits at the end of the book on CD, I would never have happened upon...

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite CD ever, April 23, 2000
This review is from: Innovators (Audio CD)
I was fortunate enough to get the WordPerfect edition of this CD back in 1993. It has been my favorite CD ever since, specially the ''Prayer of the Children'' track. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes peacefull music or is willing to give this kind of music a try.

The music and the insert could each stand on their own as powerfully moving pieces. Together they open the heart and mind to new understandings. At once transcendental and grounding, Innovators can be merely a lovely musical encounter or a growth experience. Either way, you'll want to listen again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy It, May 23, 2002
This review is from: Innovators (Audio CD)
This music (and cd) has been one of my top 5 cd's for nearly a decade now. I originally was given this in a WP 6.0 promo - the "real" windows release of the then number one Word Processing software around. I was bewildered then by the music and the spiritual journey it took me on. I don't want anyone to think that this cd is a "religious" cd - rather, it is what you make of it (so it can be religious if that is what you want). I find the music creative with hints of African, Polynesian, and even Bali influences and quite timeless. If you like this type of music, I would suggest others like Secret Garden and Prayer Cycle.
cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Music to touch the soul, August 30, 2000
By
This review is from: Innovators (Audio CD)
Kurt Bestor, Sam Cardon, Brian Blosil and company have created music which soars and lifts your spirit along with it. This music evokes those emotions which make us human, whether we are considering the selflessness of Schweitzer, the boundless curosity of Sir Richard Burton, or the haunting courage of Stephen Hawking. Bestor and Cardon show us the undaunted spirit of mankind in the anonymous accomplishments of people such as the Masons, whose adherence to the principles of geometry produced the Gothic cathedrals of Europe, those magnificent collections of stone with their spires reaching to the heavens. This same indomitable spirit is celebrated in the destruction of another European stone symbol-the Berlin Wall, brought down by the will of a people whose yearning for freedom would not be denied. This music reminds us that, in spite of the ethnic hatreds, petty and not-so-petty bigotries and biases which divide the diverse citizens of our planet, there is much to admire in Man. From the breathtaking purity of the children's choir in "The Sage of Lamberene" to the rollicking Irish jig of "Folkways", to the pure joy of "The Third Spring", this album will leave you full of the great spirit of humankind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless - Still incredible 12 years later, April 7, 2005
This review is from: Innovators (Audio CD)
I too received this fantastic CD as a Word Perfect 6.0 Demo back in 1993. It always frustrated me that my home CD player wouldn't recognize the CD since the 1st track was actually a data track. I did a search on Amazon to see if there was another release, after several unsucessful attempts to load the demo version into my iPod. Not only did I find this CD with two additional tracks but also discovered a DVD of a live performance of Innovators. Viewing this concert is also an incredible experience. Read the liner notes for each song and it will bring great meaning to the songs and to the whole CD. What an incredible listening experience even today, 12 years later.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite CDs of all times, March 4, 2003

This music is emotional and deep. I can't say enough about this CD and have listened to it about thousands of times. My favorite track is Sage of Lamberene, dedicated to Albert Schweitzer. It moves me to tears.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ending of a search, February 22, 2003

This outstanding album is something really worth listening to! I first listened to it because of a friend of mine, and my life changed the moment I listened to "Man Among Man"! Indescribable! These two wonderful musicians know secrets that when listened can really touch you deeply. Here's a MUST HAVE! No doubts there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Classic, July 3, 2002

I have owned the original CD given to me by Word Perfect in 1993. I was blown away by the music then-- and now nearly 10 years later. I was also there when Kurt made his appearance and played for a private Word Perfect Party introducing us to his wonderful music and WP5. Funny, but the music has stood the test of time, and is better now before-- and has survived WP5.0!

Like many others I have played the original so often that it amazes me how Kurts music has stood the test of time. I'll even admit I made a copy of the WP original for myself, because one day I lost the CD and went into a panic, because the music was not available for public purchase! (Talk about devotion.)

The story of Innovators is a wonderful classic that follows other classical music stories of various parts and pieces of be the best innovators in history. It's a MUST HAVE. Get it while it's available.

I was there when they taped the PBS concert of this cd. It took forever, but it was wonderful. All of this music was inspired by people who did great and remarkable things. I have the old one, but now I have to have this.
