This disc storage solution works quite well.

The Innovera box seems sturdy enough, and comes with a "lock", basically a latch that keeps the lid from opening accidentally.
R. Krom
This storage case allowed me to organize all the DVDs with their paper sleeves in an easy to find way.

The case is fine, sturdy and well made. The down side (not too far down, however) is that I spent 1/2 hour picking off the plastic pieces that needed to be punched out of every sleeve which hold the disks. These are round dots like that which comes out of a paper punch. There are 4 on each sleeve. If you don't do this, you'll find them all over the floor when you handle them to put the disks into. Each sleeve has 2 sides, with a plastic piece that needs to be removed before you can put a disk into them

These disks/sleeves simply sit into the case and are flipped through like pages in a book on edge. White paper self-sticking labels are provided for each sleeve if you want to title them across the top of the sleeves. 3 plastic dividers are provided which can separate the disk groups in the case.

Aside from this hassle, the case is good.

After reading previous reviews, I purchased this b/c I wanted CD storage in which I could be rid of what CD cases I have left. The sleeves are double sided and yes it does take a little time to punch out the holes. But the process is extremely easy! I have labled mine by complete albums/soundtracks and burned compliations. I even went the extra mile to use the labels provided to place the alphabet in each divided section.

If you want a simple solution to condense the room all your cd's take up, this is a great solution. It even has a lock. This won't keep people out, but is good to have latched for traveling.

This unit is great, but I evidently need more than one.

I use it a bit differently than advertised. I have put my all DVDs in slim jewel cases, and store them in the unit that way, but it only holds about 60 DVDs in those slim cases, so I guess I'll have to by some more.

I purchased two of these boxes for my DVDs. My husband and I are moving on board our boat and will be keeping a lot of our personal items in a storage unit. These boxes are just what I needed. Here's what you get:

- Box with lid (easy assembly required)
- 75 double-sided disc sleeves with labels
- 3 plastic dividers with labels
- Keys for lock/latch
- Rubber feet (to keep the box from sliding around)

You do need to put a little effort into popping out the plastic bits from each sleeve (otherwise, they will fall out on their own and make a mess). However, this is very easy to do. For the price of this storage set, having to do a little work is not too much to ask.

Each sleeve holds two CDs or DVDs, so your box will hold 150 total. The latch locks, which will help keep the lid from opening and spilling CD/DVDs all over the place (if you are carrying it from one room to another, for example). If you keep the box in a drawer or on a shelf, then you might not use the latch at all. The rubber feet are a nice touch.

All in all, I am very impressed with this system. If you want to minimize clutter in your life, or if you live in a small space, I highly recommend this storage system.

The boxes are pretty good, but you have to attach the "hinge" at the back by snapping a plastic pin through a hole in the top and bottom on the right and left sides at the back. It's not the sturdiest mechanism, but it enables them to ship the box unassembled with the bottom nesting in the top. Also, the lid doesn't stay closed unless you use the enclosed tiny key to turn a tab on the lid that engages with a slot on lower portion. I would have preferred an integral snapping closure or even a built-in dial that would turn the tab to engage the slot. It will be too easy to lose the key.

I bought several CD/DVD boxes to store music and video discs, since the original disc cases are bulky and heavy. I have used these Innovera boxes as well as several made by Fellowes. I first bought some Innovera boxes as a cheaper substitute for the similar Fellowes CD Box, and later because the Fellowes box was no longer available. Both hold about the same number of discs. The Innovera box is much more inexpensive, slightly taller, and has sleeves with perforations for mounting in a ring binder. The perforated edge is unnecessary for box storage, and adds about half an inch to the width of the sleeves. The perforation chads are intact and tend to fall out and litter unless removed. The sleeves have a large opening for the disc that leaves about 1.5 inches exposed. The Fellowes sleeve leaves only about a half inch exposed. Therefore, I still prefer the Fellowes sleeves, even though they seem overpriced.
The Innovera box seems sturdy enough, and comes with a "lock", basically a latch that keeps the lid from opening accidentally. It would have been better to have a latch with attached knob and not a plastic key to lose. A good basic box, easy to assemble, and I think better than the cardboard variety.

This case will suit those who have a small to medium sized CD/DVD collection that they don't access frequently. Those who want to shuffle multiple cases around (that is, stacking and re-stacking), or who access the case often, probably will be disappointed.

PLUS:
1) Case is lightweight and holds 150 CD/DVDs easily (without any paper).
2) Case is compact -- 11.5" deep, 6.25" wide, and 6.75" high.
3) Lid hinges at the back, and opens fully
4) Lid is clear so you can see what's inside.
5) Plastic case itself is sturdy and does not flex very much.

MINUS:
1) Hinges are very cheap and fragile plastic (so cheap that they include an extra one, needed because they break when attaching the lid to the base).
2) The lid does not stay in place unless it's locked.
3) The "lock" on the front is very cheap plastic -- just a little knob that you turn with a cheap plastic "key." I'm waiting for the knob to break off, at which point I may deep-six the unit.
4) The bottom of the unit is smooth and slippery. They can be stacked 2-high without too much slippage, but 3-high becomes unstable. Stack them four-high and you will be playing "pick up CDs" in no time at all.
5) The CD sleeves are flimsy. You have to punch out holes before using them, else little pieces of plastic fall out everywhere. The holes are non-functional -- they clearly purchased sleeves designed for ring-type CD cases. It's a minor annoyance. However, the plastic itself tears easily, so one must take care inserting and removing the disks.

BOTTOM LINE: Another case of "you get what you pay for." For collections CD/DVDs that are flat on the shelf (not stacked) most of the time and which are accessed rarely, these units will do the trick at a reasonable price. Those who need to stack units, or who want to access their collection frequently, probably will be happier with a more robust storage solution.
