4.0 out of 5 stars Complicated but look great
About as many parts as a battleship, but once assembled they look and work fine. Wish there were more items in this particular line.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just fine
I could tell from the pictures and description that the product was going to look industrial but the granite color looked gray in the pictures. It's not a solid gray, it is literally a granite pattern. It works fine though and has some nice touches like locking back wheels. The top two drawers are a little shallow but it is fine overall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not so great for files, September 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is great as a rolling drawer unit. And that's pretty much what I bought it for: some drawers for storage, plus a little file storage capacity.

The drawers work great. They operate smoothly, without sticking. There're two of them, which is nice for organization. But the filing part leaves a little to be desired. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but hanging file folders don't seem to fit in with the folders parallel to the front, like in most filing cabinets. But they do fit in 'sideways'. This might be okay, but then the included supports don't really stay in place, and so trying to go through the folders usually results in some coming loose.

The construction seems sturdy (and heavy!), and the casters work well, and it looks great. I didn't have any problem putting it together, either. So, overall, it's great for me. But if you have a lot of stuff to keep organized and filed, it might not work so well for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to assemble and use, March 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When I received this item, I put aside quite a bit of time for construction, but didn't end up needing more than about an hour. The instructions are mostly straightforward, you just need to be careful with lining up everything properly according to the manual, and you won't have any problems.

The unit looks great, both on the outside and inside the drawers once assembled, and is a very sturdy unit that can handle many items both inside and on top. I would recommend this unit for any office as long as it matches the furniture in the office already, or for any college student that needs a place to file away papers, statements, etc. Overall, this is a very functional and practical piece of furniture that you should get quite a bit of use out of for years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Okkkay, January 30, 2010

This review is from: Innovex Mobile Filing Cabinet, Medium Cherry (Kitchen)
A good, cheaper higher end cabinet. Assembly was easy, but piecing together the sheet-metal drawer sides was a little intimidating. The 'wood' is good quality laminated particle board but it scratches pretty easily. The file cabinet drawer is a little awkward to use and that is my biggest complaint: files can only be hung perpendicular to the front. The drawer sliders don't allow the drawer to open all the way so slight bending (not too much) of the file is needed to get it in or out of the drawer. Other than that, the product is GREAT. Looks good and the wheels are big and easy to lock. I don't put in or take out files more than once a day so I would buy another because of the overall quality and appearance. It even came with a small plastic drawer organizer. It's an excellent product that would cost 2-3x the amount in stores.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Style; Build Quality Not So Much, May 17, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First off, I read all the reviews for this filing cabinet so I would know what to expect before placing my order -- although it wasn't the most expensive cabinet on the market, it was still a good chunk of change and I was planning to order two of them. Right when I received the packages I thought there was trouble: I had ordered "Maple" (even checking with Amazon first to make sure the right color was in my shopping cart because I couldn't see it) but the boxes were marked "Black Glass" instead. That turned out to be a red herring, as my guess is *any* style of cabinet gets put inside an outer box with the "Black Glass" label -- must be the only ones left in the warehouse.

Like other reviews have stated, this comes with many, many parts -- you're basically building the cabinet from scratch. The wood grain turns out to be a vinyl laminate (basically a heavy-duty sticker) that had some small bubbles and scratches on the drawer fronts, but nothing worth returning it. The metal pieces have a powder-like paint coating that also had some bubbles and scratches, but again nothing that warranted me packing it all up and sending it back. All the pieces were also covered with a fine layer of black dust when I opened the box.

The directions are straight-forward but the hardware pack was mislabeled, so at first I thought I didn't have enough of a certain bolt. They also show the pencil tray simply being placed on top of the drawer frame when it should actually be put inside grooves in the sides of the drawer before it's completely assembled, that way it can slide back and forth easily without crashing down. The first cabinet took about two hours to assemble fully (including interruptions), hindered in part by a second plastic end-cap jammed up inside one of the framing tubes that I had to extract in order to get a crossbar to fit. The second one went quicker, but I discovered the frame was a little out of square so the drawers are tighter than the first.

As others have stated, the filing system is on the wonky side. The metal rods provided to hold hanging files perpendicular to the front fit into grooves in the sides of the bottom drawer, but there's nothing to hold them in place so they just slide back and forth and fall out when opening and closing the drawer. I ended up using some clear epoxy to cement them in place which has done the trick. The drawer opens just a little bit short of the width of a letter-sized manila folder, so yes, you do need to bend folders a bit to get them in and out, but it's nothing too dramatic or cumbersome.

Overall I am impressed with these cabinets -- they're sturdy, have a lot of metal parts, and look great, and the vents on the side and back help dissipate the heat from the side fans of my computer (which sits next to the cabinets). The build quality is not up at IKEA levels for fit and finish -- or even consistency -- but for the price I paid I'm very satisfied.

I am very happy with this file cabinet. I thought it was easy to put together and is exactly what I needed for my computer room. I would buy from Leda again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for a good price., April 8, 2008
This review is from: Innovex Mobile Filing Cabinet, Medium Cherry (Kitchen)
We needed another file-cabinet and were not looking into spending over two hundred a piece like our previous set of file cabinets (that came with the complete office furtiture); after much research and trying to match the colors, we decided to go ahead with the LEDA cabinet. It took me about an hour to put it together, the directions were fairly simple (parts organization is key); the quality isn't bad, I found some little nicks and scratches, but for this price, I think it's OK, again, compared what we paid for the other higher priced "premium" ones. I think the color is actually a little darker as well.

Product delivered initially was wrong color. Quickly replaced by correct color item. Not bad for the price, however, painted metal sides were badly scratched. One drawer front was gouged and missing a piece of veneer. Sent email asking for replacement parts 3 weeks ago. Have not seen anything yet. But even with these drawbacks, the item is built fairly well and functions well for our purpose. Lots of pieces to assemble, takes 30 to 40 minutes to do so. All in all, at under $100 plus free shipping, its a pretty good deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the Cabinet, but Missing Parts, October 9, 2007

We ordered two of these cabinets and they arrived very quickly. My husband assembled the first one and thought the instructions were not very clear, but that for the money, they cabinet was decent quality. We opened the second box and most of the screws/small pieces were missing. We called the manufacturer to get replacement parts. They sent the wrong ones. After many phone calls and emails, the correct ones just arrived. It's been a hassle but we do like the cabinets and the price was great.
