These boots weigh only 13 oz per boot. The soles are stiff enough to distribute the impact of objects on the trail. After 3 weeks of wear for neighborhood walks, I used them for a 28 mile weekend backpacking trip. No blisters, no hot spots, no leaks (even when crossing streams). My feet stayed dry and comfortable.
These boots do not offer a lot of insulation. They do not have strong arch support. But, if you want to minimize weight and are comfortable with a fairly unstructured boot that will protect your feet from water and rocks and sticks on the trail, these are great. Order 1/2 size larger than normal shoe size.

High quality boots. They keep your feet dry, comfortable, good ankle support, and they are noticably lighter than most other hiking boots. I've only used them about a dozen times so I cant comment on their durability. I also havent put them to any real water proofing tests but when I go hiking around I usually am not looking for a swim.
