Endurance Rubber Compound - Formulated for an optimal balance on wear and mixed terrain grip. Comfort Last - Generous fitting and offering a more comfortable style. Ideal for training and long distances particularly on trails. Unisex - Built on a last based of an average runner's foot giving a good fit for both male and female Webbing Upper Support - Lacing attached to nylon webbing, cradles and secures the upper behind the metatarsal heads. Terra Shank - A polymer shank positioned behind the metatarsal heads providing underfoot protection. A softer compound is used on performance product while a firmer compound is used on the endurance product. These shoes are ultra-light, and quite comfortable. I've worn them in all types of conditions and on all types of terrain, and can say that where comfort is concerned they are the best trail shoes I have owned. There are a couple of drawbacks however. First, the tread, which is staggeringly good on earth, pavement, and dry rock, is seriously dangerous on very wet rock surfaces. I have definitely felt unsafe on wet, rocky slopes and ridges while wearing these. Second, the soles have delaminated after a few months use. I am not an athlete, and I haven't put these shoes through too much, so, to me, that is an unacceptably short life-span for a pair of shoes.

The above aside, these shoes are quite amazing on dry surfaces. The grip of the sole is almost paranormal, and the flexible and sensitive toe makes trail running a real pleasure. I think my feet are in better shape for having worn these.

Watch out !
If you are bying these thinking that they are the first version of the Terroc 330, as suggested by the photo, think again.
The shoes shipped to me were a newer version. They look more or less the same and are based on the same sole, but the upper is different ! I am not saying that they are bad, but I specifically wanted the old version. Amazon seemed to be the only one still selling those, so I bought from them. If I would have known that I would get the newer shoe, I would have gone with another seller who was selling the newer version, but wasn't charging for shipping & handling.

I am reluctant to buy shoes without road testing them, but so far these shoes have been great. They are comfortable and look great. I will wear them to work and around town.
