Sizing scheme is way off,
By Joaquin (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inov-8 Men's Mudroc 280 Trail Running Shoe Running Shoe (Apparel)
I ordered my normal size and width in this shoe, and it was 1 to 1-1/2 sizes off in both width and length. Very narrow for a D width shoe, which is what I ordered for the INOV-8. These would be narrows in any other shoe. I normally run in Asics or New Balance, sometimes Nike or Adidas, and thought I would try a new shoe. Now this is a racing shoe but this would be too tight (narrow) for a track cleat!, yet its a distance running shoe. Fit almost like a rock climbing shoe but even then too tight. I could barely get it on, yet it fit my girlfriend perfectly who is a size and half smaller than me, and has a narrow foot. So I think the sizing for this shoe may be up 1 to 1-1/2 sizes off, and the width is certainly more narrow than a D, by comparison to any other running shoe sold in the U.S. that I've tried on. Even Nikes, that run a little narrow on me at times, are much wider than these.
That said the shoe seems very nice - very light to hold, and seems well constructed. Maybe the fit was intended to be tight, but this is so tight it would fold your foot sideways. I will return and order a different size, and try to go up a width and try again because I am very interested in the shoe. On their website INOV-8 claims the shoe runs true to size, but I don't think so. |
