5.0 out of 5 stars Great minimalist trail running shoe
I normally wear Vibram Five Finger shoes for most of my running and CrossFit workouts, so I am used to minimalist shoes. This year I took up trail running, and really needed something with a bit more aggressive tread than my KSO Treks provided. The x-talon 212 have been a wonderful shoe. Aggressive tread provides secure traction on even the muddiest trails...

3.0 out of 5 stars Only if you have narrow feet
I love the philosophy behind this shoe. Ultra light weight with a great tread pattern. Unfortunately you have to have freakishly narrow feet for them to fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great minimalist trail running shoe, September 27, 2010
I normally wear Vibram Five Finger shoes for most of my running and CrossFit workouts, so I am used to minimalist shoes. This year I took up trail running, and really needed something with a bit more aggressive tread than my KSO Treks provided. The x-talon 212 have been a wonderful shoe. Aggressive tread provides secure traction on even the muddiest trails. Lightweight comfortable fit with roomy toe-box make switching to these from the VFFs fine for me. I have medium width feet and did not find the x-talon 212's to be too narrow at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Mountain Running Shoe, January 8, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Took these right out of the box, with no "break in" at all, and did an 8 mile trail run/hike. They were very comfortable, and surprisingly for a brand new pair of sneakers, left my feet quite comfortable with no blisters! They are extremely light and don't offer a lot of support however, but their light weight does add to their flexibility. Not the cheapest choice, but if they continue to perform as they did this first time, I can say I'm rather pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars great for the sloppy stuff, March 22, 2011
I have been running in these shoes for several months now. Great, and so light compared to most shoes. Ran a 30k in the mud and rain last weekend and never worried about the grip; they stuck like glue. My only quibbles with the shoe are the lug spacings are so wide that on hard pack or pavement, you feel the lugs through the shoes. I also have narrow feet and unlike other reviewers, found the shoes almost too wide. I punched more shoelace holes in them to allow me to lace up tighter without cutting off circulation in the top of my feet. Now they are perfect for wet/soft stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kickass shoe, December 23, 2010
Really light and good trail shoe witch works perfectly in snow and icy conditions. The sole gives a good grip in all terrain and it wont tear down easily since they still look new after plenty of use.
