The best flashlight for your keychain,
By Martin Anderson "Martin" (Santa Ana, CA United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)

I used to carry a maglite Solitaire, but this light beats the maglite for several reasons.
First, it is much smaller. Second, it is much brighter. Third, it has three modes: Bright, dim, and strobe. Fourth, the clip system is much better than the solitaire's ring.

Good, but Photon is much better,

This works well,...But not nearly as superb as the Photon Freedom, which has brightness control, Strobe/ SOS, handsfree ON/OFF, comes with a clip, harness, etc.
I had the Inova for about 6 months on my keychain until it got all loosey-goosey and fell apart. The Photon has been on my keychain for 22 months and keeps on tickin and clickin'

Purchased this item because it was the highest rated Microlight. A microlight doesn't do you much good if it keeps turning itself on in your pocket. Very disappointed in this item. It constantly turned itself on and ran down the battery, even when kept in an external (loose) coat pocket. If it doesn't have battery power when you need it, it's pretty much useless.

Nifty Gadget But Flawed,
By
This review is from: Inova BB-W Microlight with Black Body and White LED (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought one for use during the times I go jogging late at night. It is exceptionally bright and very small. I was thrilled with the build and functionality, but alas, over time (about two months) my Inova Microlight developed one flaw - the light turned on in response to being bumped around such as happened when it jangled with my keys or change in my pocket. Even with the auto-off feature, this problem inevitably caused the battery to completely drain over time.
To be fair, I did briefly immerse the thing in water a few times thinking it was waterproof (if I'm not mistaken, the document _did_ say it was waterproof) - and that might have messed up the circuitry. And I must add the product description, such as a recessed LED bulb for exceptional durability, a hardy black polycarbonate case, exceptional signal light visibility, etc., is accurate in all respects. Maybe I got a lemon but if it weren't for the defect, this little gadget would have proven to be a winner deserving of a five-star rating. What a shame! I had _really_ loved it at first. Maybe you'll have better luck with it and for the relatively cheap price I'd say it's worth a shot. I'm going to move on to the more expensive proton brand of microlight, which has pretty favorable reviews. You might want to look into that too.

Not Bad for the Size,

I bought this just a few days ago, and I'm pretty impressed. I had to replace my old flashlight and thought that having a smaller "mini" flashlight would be much easier to carry around- which this is. I attached it the end of my key chain (it has a clip on the end), so it is easy to pull out.
As for the strength of the light, it is isn't as strong as some of the more expensive (and larger) ones, but for it's size and price, it is decent. All in all, not a disappointing product.

Stupid clip design.,

Does not play well with other stuff on your key chain, it stubbornly insists on being perpendicular to your keys, etc. Maybe that explains in part why the company doesn't describe it as a key chain light. The button feels like cheap dry semi-flexible plastic. Puts out a nice light, though.

Small, Simple and Easy to Use, But A Few Drawbacks,
By
This review is from: Inova BB-W Microlight with Black Body and White LED (Tools & Home Improvement)
Despite a few reservations, I do like this light and have bought another one to stash in my bag.
Good: - Very small size: could be clipped to a zipper pull - Operation is simple: click once for a strong beam, twice for a half-powered beam and three times for strobing - Light output is rather bright Bad: - It is only rated IPX4 for water resistance, which might not be enough to withstand rain Possible Bad?: - Given the push-button operation, I can imagine it turning on by accident in a pocket, book bag, etc., though I have not ever had this happen. Note: Save the instructions, since opening this flashlight to replace the batteries (2 x CR2016 coin batteries) is a bit tricky.

The Inova Microlight has been a handy light-weight key chain light. It's on/off button occasionally gets pressed in my pocket, but it's no big deal because the battery is very efficient. I love it's diminutive size and strobe feature. The light's bright enough for finding lost stuff at the movie theater, but not too bright too kill your night vision. I'd buy it again!

Poor switch design ruins an otherwise great product,
By
This review is from: Inova BB-W Microlight with Black Body and White LED (Tools & Home Improvement)
Lightweight, surprisingly bright for their size and really handy, thse lights would be a great buy if they didn't suffer from one fatal flaw: their switches appear to be very poorly designed or constructed.
I purchaced three of these for stocking stuffers in addition to one for myself. One has already died due to a stuck 'on' switch. Mine seems to turn on if it's breathed on (VERY sensitive switch). So we're batting .500 with less than one month's use. As such, I cannot recommend these minilights. |
