4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, addicitve, click fest
This is a fun, inexpensive little strategy game that has only one flaw... it's an insane click fest. Basically, you've got a fish tank and you must feed your fish to keep them alive by clicking on the screen to drop a food pellet. Dropping food pellets cost you money, so you must ration them (at least at the beginning of each level). But well-fed fish drop coins, you...

I like this game very much, but only in the first few levels. Up to when you get a carnivore. For me, it just gets too frenetic after that.

But well-fed fish drop coins, you you must collect (again by clicking on them) to build your money supply. With more money you can by upgraded equipment with which to feed your fish and other types of fish that produce more money. Every couple of minutes your fish will be attacked by an alien, which you must shoot and kill before he eats all of your fish. The strategy comes when deciding how to spend your money to upgrade which pieces of equipment and weapons, buy more fish, fish producers, or fish that eat your other fish. You also have to choose at the start of each level which helper fish to have in your tank, all with different abilities. For example some collect coins for you while others protect your fish from aliens. The graphics are sound effects are cute and the game play is relatively simple, so this is a good game for kids and casual gamers. The one problem with the game is that the only interface is the mouse, so you will constantly clicking nearly as fast as you can for the duration of each level. It will give your wrist a workout, so take a break between levels!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just a little bit addicted..., January 28, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

The packaging and the disc came in perfect condition. The game is easy enough for my 5 year old to play and fun enough for me to play. The game starts out like it may be a little boring, but very soon you realize that its a startegy game more than anything else. You must attempt to pay attentionto all aspects of the tank at the same time while attempting to defend it also. I am 26 years old and am completely addicted to playing 'the fish game.'

This game grabs you, hook line and sinker. Even my grandson loves it. He started playing when he was 5 and still plays every times he's here and he's 8 this month.
When will there be a Insaniquarium II(2)?

Kids may love it, but adults do, too. I'm so addicted to this game I see fish and coins when I close my eyes. My college kids downloaded it to try one night and spent HOURS sitting opposite each other on their respective laptops, intently feeding the fish and filling the rooms with the sound effects. After you finish the game, there are bonus levels to play for new pets. As soon as I beat it, I'll start again. I can't believe I've never heard of it before. Only Jewel Quest 2 captured me like this. It's great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hallelujah, It works on Vista!!, July 21, 2008

When I purchased my kids' computer, it came loaded with a sample of this game & others by this company. Smart move! They played their quota of the samples, then asked me to buy some of them. I put this on the wishlist, and someone bought it for my son, aged 6 at the time.

Oh my gosh, what a GREAT present!! Everyone plays this!! Adults, kids, it doesn't matter. It's very addicting.

If you need a summary of what the game does or is, read the product overview. I am just here to tell you that you can not go wrong buying this game.

My kids, aged 9, 6, 6, & 3 all love this game, as does my husband. (I never got a turn. I play Zuma, instead.) They played this all winter long (and it's a LONG winter in northern PA!). Our houseguests have all loved this game, as well.

What's also great about this and other titles made by this company...You don't need the disc inserted to play the game. Once you load it, you can play it all you want. You can even share your disc with a friend.

Oh, and, it runs on Windows Vista just fine! Yay!!!!!

My wife found this game online and just had to have it. It's silly fun; you feed various types of fish while shooting down aliens that sometimes appear in your fish tank. There are many levels to play and different scenes. This is a great mindless game to take a break from work! For the small price it's well worth it.

My 10 year old son loves this game, not to mention my husband. He plays this more than any Playstation 2 or Nintendo DS games. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars More fun with fish, September 17, 2009

This game actually has two games; a virtual tank with real days and real world setting, with a store where you buy fish. In the other game you feed fish and fight aliens. You get aquatic pets from eggs (clams, mermaids, etc.), then they help you with the fish. My granddaughter, 10 years old, really likes this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, fun distraction, May 17, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Insaniquarium (CD-ROM)
I got addicted to this game after playing the free web version on Yahoo! So, I see it on Amazon and for a nice price, so I say why not?
The full version has a ton more levels than the free web version. The levels get progressively harder (obviously) with new villains and new ways to get more points and collect the next egg.
I enjoy how this game could be played for 5 minutes and then left. Upon your next visit, your progress is saved in the exact place you left it. Furthermore, the game is simple and uncomplicated. No hard puzzles to have to manipulate or tricky word games. No crazy keyboard inputs to remember. Just feed the fish and collect the coins and treasures. All with the click of a mouse. Piece of cake and a nice distraction in case you are waiting for a file to download on your computer and don't want to have to get too involved in the game.
Besides the Adventure Mode, you also have the Timed Mode, where you have to get as much money as you can in a certain time limit, and the Virtual Aquarium, where you buy and care for fish. Both are pretty darn fun.
About the only thing I didn't like was how small the game screen is. If you go full screen, it turns into huge, ugly pixels; if you leave it in original screen size, it is a teenie, tiny box.
I definitely enjoy playing this game and highly recommend this title to those looking for an easy, fun game.
