Tell Abu Salabikh in Review,
By Jonathan Gemmill (Salt Lake City, Utah USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inscriptions from Tell Abu Salabikh (Oriental Institute Publications) (Hardcover)
The content of Dr. Robert Biggs' Inscriptions From Tell Abu Salabikh is excellent. Particularly helpful are the excellent hand copies of the cuneiform texts. The book also contains numerous photographs, both of the dig site and of the tablets themselves. Some of the tablet photographs are, however, difficult to read. The introductory information is both informative and concise. I found particularly interesting the material regarding the UD.GAL.NUN class of texts, which had yet to be deciphered. This book is well worth owning, but is technical and more for the Assyriological student than the general public.
