About the Author

Douglas Horne graduated Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 1974 with a B.A. in History, and worked for the Navy in various capacities for 20 years before joining the staff of the Assassination Records Review Board in 1995. Doug served on active duty in the Navy as a junior officer for ten years, achieving professional qualification as a Surface Warfare Officer in 1976, and was stationed onboard three surface combatants in the Pacific Fleet: USS Ouellet (FF-1077); USS Reeves (CG-24); and USS Worden (CG-18). Mr. Horne subsequently worked for the Navy for ten more years in a civil service capacity, in a vital Cold War antisubmarine warfare program. Following his ARRB experiences, Doug filled the post of Manager, Visitor Services Branch at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. He now works for the State Department.

Horne systematically provides detail not available anywhere else---and the detail coupled with cogent analysis is remarkable.

Mr. Horne has given us explosive evidence in the revelation by Dr. Thornton Boswell's identification of the rear of JFK's being blown out by a shot from the front.

Bill Kelly's Preview of Doug Horne's IARRB -

Doug Horne's Inside the Assassination Records Review Board (IARRB) is the most important book to be published on the assassination of President Kennedy in decades, not only because it changes the way we look at that murder, but in showing how the remaining issues can be resolved by determining the truth.

All the debates end here, and the arguments are replaced with questions that were posed but not answered when the Assassination Records Review Board was alive and ostensibly overseeing the declassification and release of the government's JFK assassination records. Many of the questions weren't even asked because the ARRB failed to fully use its power to subpoena witnesses and take the sworn testimony of witness.

As Horne, the chief analyst for military records explains, "While the Review Board had the power to subpoena witnesses and grant immunity, the subpoena power was used sparingly (with a limited number of medical and CIA witnesses), and the immunity power was never exercised. The reason: none of the Board Members were convinced there was any conspiracy or coverup, and therefore were only interested in clarifying the record in a few areas. At least the staff of the ARRB was permitted to conduct unsworn witness interviews without seeking permission from the Board Members. Sadly, senior staff members often elected not to even tape record witness interviews, which make the staff's written interview reports incredibly important as historical tools.

Mr. Horne has given us explosive evidence in the revelation by Dr. Thornton Boswell's identification of the rear of JFK's being blown out by a shot from the front. If the media had any interest in revealing the truth, this would be a huge story, but it has been ignored by the major media.
Mr. Horne should wear any criticism leveled at his work as a badge of honor. The men and women who have fought to tell the truth can often be identified by the "name calling" and slander thrown their way.
If you have an interest in seeing solid evidence that clearly portrays what transpired in Dallas on 11/22/63, Mr. Horne's work is an excellent place to begin.
-Thank you, Mr. Horne, for your diligence and courage.

A long time coming this work. And from a man on the inside who interviewed a lot of the Principals before they passed on. My father's tome Murder From Within self published in 1974 and deemed too controversial for print at the time has finally been vindicated with these monumental books of scholarly research and newly discovered and revealed hard evidence of a monumental coverup. By revealing how and when primary evidence was altered or destroyed one can automatically discern who is behind the whole charade and murder. In this case it's the same group. Here in these volumes is the work of someone not afraid to look at the unbelievable. Either Oswald did it alone or it had to be an "inside job" where the perpetrators both benefited and controlled the evidence in order to commit regicide, the oldest story on Earth. This scenario is not without past precedent. Betrayal was the cornerstone of some of the most famous assassinations from the past. Charles de Gaulle was the target of many assassination attempts only to find out it was a plot within his own security or military. Caesar (et tu Brutus?) Christ (Judas) Napoleon (now known that he was slowly poisoned to death with arsenic...the chef or butler did it?) Huey Long is rumored to have been shot by one of his own bodyguards and Benigno Acquino in the Philippines was murdered by a guard at the behest of Ferdinand Marcos with a "patsy" ready to blame nearby. Why suspect Lyndon Johnson??? Why not??? should be the question. Actually this was the very first assassination conspiracy theory and was set forth before Oswald was even a suspect. It was Kenny O'Donnell on Air Force One who said it before the swearing in of Lyndon Johnson when he growled out loud "I always knew they'd do this". "They" being the new leader, his SS Agents and his cronies.Read more ›

People frequently label a book a "must read." In this case, I think the label fits. Horne's book is not a rehash of old stuff; it is a seminal work which cuts new ground on many issues, including the Zapruder film. But, unless you are a devoted student of the assassination, his book(s)will probably be a tedious read.

Douglas Horne has meticulously dissected some of the larger controversies of JFK's death such as the autopsy photos, the X-rays,and the Zapruder film's authenticity. He concludes that much of the existing evidence is tainted (or in some cases missing) and he gives the reader a clear roadmap to his conclusion that the assassination of President Kennedy was no quirk of fate.

The primary strength of Horne's book is that it is, for the most part, based on the work of the Assassination Records Reveiw Board (ARRB, a board set up to review and release government records about the assassination. Horne gives the reader ring side seat to the ARRB evidentiary proceedings. He explains what they did, why they did it, what they found, and what it means. He is credible precisely because he was there!

Specifically, the ARRB staff conducted a lot of interviews, both sworn and unsworn, seeking to clarify the record on several important issues -- including the autopsy photos, the genuineness of the X-rays, the transport of the President's body and the actaul appearance of his wounds. The results are startling! It is fairly clear that there are missing autopsy photos, missing X-rays, strange departures from customary protocal, and strong evidence of a surgical alteration of JFK's wounds prior to the "official" autopsy -- to name a few of the problems. If this sounds bizarre; it is.
