As soon to be purchasers of an 'arts & crafts' home in the Hudson Valley (NY), my husband and I never heard of 'arts & crafts' style homes. This book has been such a wonderful inspiration for us. The book is filled with color photos, wonderful ideas, themes and history! We will borrow from what we've learned and put those concepts, colors etc to great use in our new home. What was especially dramatic was the before and after pix of rooms/homes. You won't be disappointed in this purchase.

For newly into the arts and crafts movement and restoring our bungalow, this book concentrates exactly where we needed it to -- the interior. From shots of wonderful restored homes to our favorite section (before and after), this book will become our favorite resource. Excellently focused!

Whether one is studying architecture for the beauty and style of design or as a career, Inside the Bungalow provides a great overview of styles and techniques as well as history. A textbook for those who are seeking a career in interior design or restoration. The beauty of the photography and insight of both the author and the photographer into the feeling and warmth portrayed by each individual home's interior style and visual statement is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed just browsing through the pages and while there, learned more than I had expected about the importance of the bungalow in America's history. Although this might well be a coffee table book, it is more importantly an accurate and informative study for those who follow this architectural style and are enamored by its colorful history.

This is a user friendly book to have close at hand. If you're like me I am always looking at ways to incorporate colors, designs and arts and crafts style into our 1922 Chalet Arts and Craft's home. I especially appreciate all the colorful pictures and the textiles shown. Paint, stenciling and wallcoverings being modest in cost and are realistic changes that are indeed affordable. Lots of ideas and examples to pull a room together. I refer to the book frequently and I am pleased I bought it.

ANYONE WHO INCLUDES BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES IN THEIR BOOK GETS MY VOTE. BEAUTIFUL HOUSES DON'T JUST HAPPEN, THEY ARE THE RESULT OF HARD WORK BY THEIR OWNERS. THIS BOOK SHOWCASES SOME WONDERFUL INTERIORS AND PROVIDES INSPIRATIONS TO THOSE OF US STILL WORKING ON OUR HUMBLE BUNGALOWS.

Great source for anyone who is considering doing and architectural project, either interior or exterior, with an Arts and Crafts feeling.

KEISTER'S PHOTOS WILL SATISFY THE MOST DIE-HARD BUNGALOW FAN OR ANY FAN OF AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE.THIS BOOK ALONG WITH THEIR OTHER BUNGALOW BOOK IS A MUST HAVE.

I'm sort of obsessed with bungalows and the arts and craft style. I have checked out many books from libraries over and over again and finally decided that I needed to buy some for myself. This was one of the three that I chose to buy. Just really great interior photos of some gorgeous homes.

The writing in the book is a little prosaic and doesn't add a ton, but the pictures are really inspiring. Almost of the images are of careful restorations that brought rooms back to their original style. It's a little over the top, but for someone planning a renovation or interested in these houses, it's nice to really understand the original intent of the arts and crafts movement.
