CP/M: An In-Depth Look At An Old OS, February 16, 2008
This review is from: Inside CP/M: Guide for Users and Programmers with CP/M-86 and MP/M2 (Paperback)
This is a 15 chapter, 571 page in-depth analysis that begins with computer fundamentals as they existed in 1984, and ends with DISK BIOS and System Generation for the OS CP/M and it's upgrades CP/M-86 and MP/M2-the CP/M for 8086 Intel processors and a Multitasking version.
The last of the book is a huge archive of user and programmer reference with ASCII, Hex, decimal, Binary, 8080 and Z-80 information and more about computing as it was "back-in-the-day". A geat read for the curious and a superb guide for the hobbyist rediscovering CP/M as the DOS that might have been.
On the back of the book is an index guide to content and the pages it's on. To use it you bend the book in half lengthwise and match the pages' tabs to the back cover's tabs for a quick-find of content.
If you want to know everything there is to know about CP/M THIS is the book you need.
