I thought this would have some nice hokey music with alot of bass. But I found it very repititious. I think it's not really music from old movies, but made with a sound music program.
I have Acid 4.0 and I can recognize alot of loops used.

Nice set of mid 70s acid jazz and funk. Tempo changes nicely from all funked out to smooth jazz. I like the transition between the songs with the dialog from the different classic porn movies. I like the digi-pac package as well. The booklet has nice photos (very nice I might add!) with a short documentary essay from one of the more prolific porn directors of the 70s. My only gripe is that they dont credit all the movies these songs were taken from. All in all it's perfect mood music for those "special" occations.

I really enjoyed DEEP NOTE, the first of the Music of 1970s Adult Cinema discs -- hilarious dialogue and pretty cool music, but not quite what I expected. When I think 1970s porn soundtracks, funky wah-wah guitars come to mind. Well, INSIDE DEEP NOTE, the sequel CD has tons of sweaty grooves with wah-wah guitars galore! Plus the packaging is awesome -- a jaw-dropping 8-panel full-color digipack PLUS a 16 page color booklet!!! This is one of those RARE cases where the follow-up is a MAJOR improvement over the original. This is a MUST HAVE!

Deep Note is a compilation of music from 1970s p--n(1) films, back when adu-t(2) films were low budget, underground, and the music funky.

The music on Deep Note is great: basically, all the funk and cheezo lounge that were the nuts and bolts on 1970s P--n(3) movie scores.

There is, however, a lot more variation than I thought there would be. You have the deep funk that you would expect, and the tender swag that were used for those oh so sensitive scenes. (Oh my heart is getting all gushy right now.)

Pretty good music but no remastering: you can tell the sources are lifted straight from VHS tapes, though everything is clear, just not well separated. To make up, the tracks are bridged with sound bytes from the films, in celebration of the extra curricular activities that made Deep Note possible to start with.

(One byte is about fingers going........someplace..........and I am sure describing would get this review completely erased, but for a reasonable fee, Amazon will ship it to you in a brown cardboard package.)

Three. Not as bad as I thought.

This is a very surprising compilation. I was expecting mostly chika wah-wah (and a lot is there too), but never minding the standard porn background you will find well done jazz, r&b, acid, trip-hop, even Emo sounds here!
Not only is this a better compilation of some great sounding music of the decade and the genre, this would be more than contemporary now. Inside Deep Note is a great sampling of unknown artists writting and performing music for porn that were given much more open space and boundaries to experiment than they would've normally, and the result is mind blowing.
Its hard to believe this is all from the 70's, any modern music connoisseur will instantly see a lot of this as inspiration for so many a modern band and sound.
If you like the Beastie Boys In Sound from Way Out style music, Martin, Medeski & Wood, Ornette Coleman, Frank Zappa, Nightmares On Wax, DJ Shadow, John Zorn, Stereolab, trip-hop, or even deep funk/house revival, this is a must have for you. There is such a strong sense of what they've been doing lately and the sound of this compilation its uncanny.

This is a great buy for the price and a keeper in any true music fans collection!

Concept is good, songs are the funk and acid jazz you'd expect, but the cd sound quality is so poor it'll begin gathering dust immediately.

I have this disc, and it was funny how sounds used in these tracks are the same as samples I've used in creating songs with ACID a music production and remixing program, sure they are royalty free, but i'll note that there in no actual copyright any where on the disc or packaging. The songs are good, but from actual 70s porn, I think not. The packaging it 1000% awesome too.
If anyone wants mine though, I'll sell it for $300. hahaha. ;)
