Inside the Fence: A Primer for Prison Ministry,
This review is from: Inside the Fence: A Handbook for Those in Prison Ministry (Paperback)
This book, subtitled, "A Handbook for Those in PrisonMinistry", lives up to it's name. The author intends this bookto be a starter for further study and discussion into what a chaplain's role is in the corrections system. The book offers a look inside the prison fence. Chaplain Schilder suggests a number of ways in which Chaplains, Administrators, and lay ministers can prepare themselves for this very unique and specialized ministry.Although a Roman Catholic himself, Chaplain Schilder recognizes the church community within the arena of the prison. He is an advocate for ministering to the whole prison regardless of sect or faith. David Schilder has spent over eighteen years as a Chaplain, in Honor Camps, and in Minister-in-Context programs. He is well qualified to guide the reader "Inside the Fence". END

I was disappointed to find this was written strictly for prison chaplains. I was looking for advice on starting jail ministry but this was not helpful to me at all. Very narrow field for whom this book will fit.
