This two-LP-on-one-CD release makes for a delightful juxtaposition of distinctly differing sounds by one of the more stable early lineups of Poco, released a year apart (1971-1972). From the Inside, produced by Steve Cropper in Memphis, was a kind of experimental album, its sound leaner than that for which the group was known, featuring playing that was more stripped down than anything on their prior albums, and with the guitars turned down a bit. And A Good Feelin' to Know was their return to a flashier, more virtuoso guitar sound -- in some ways, even overlooking the group's cover of "Go and Say Goodbye," the Poco album closest in spirit to the work of their predecessor group, the Buffalo Springfield. And it was also the group's go-for-broke thrust at commercial success, taking their most popular concert number as the title tune and aiming it as a very AM radio-friendly single release. The remastering, done in 1997, gives this CD a vivider sound than either of the domestic Columbia/Sony CD versions, with crackling and crunchy guitars all over A Good Feelin' to Know and the beautiful harmony singing up close on From the Inside. Based on the excellent past releases (really remastered sound, good liner notes, graphic package restored) by BGO label, especially those from Robim Trower, i don't even think when i saw this product. Two of the most satisfying and enjoyable albuns by Poco, in one cd... what a bargain.... I bought it right away. What a disapointment... if the sound of this disc is remastered, keep your mastered versions by Sony label.... it's by far much better... and this is not the only complaint... two tracks have evident damages on the sound, with very annoying "effects" on the left chanel not present on the original releases... the music of Poco doesn't deserve this treatment, nor the consummer... Too bad BGO.

If you like the music of this great Band, pick the original versions by Sony label...

I also bought this CD because I love the sounds of POCO. Unfortunately there is noticeable damage which one can hear on track 9 as well as other tracks. The end result is that instead of enjoying the music ones ear is inclined to become much more critical - listening for imperfections instead of listening for the pleasure of it all. These are 2 of my favorite POCO albums (especially "POCO...A Good Feelin' to Know"). Purchase the EPIC versions of these 2 albums because they are truly worthy of 5 star status.
