This is a great resource for people trying to decide which law school will be best for them. It goes beyond numbers, admissions statistics, and placement rates. It discusses each law school in depth, addressing issues such as student concerns, extracurricular activities, facilities, social life, competitiveness between students, and more.

However, this is not a perfect resource. Most problematic is that it was written in 1993, when there was still an admissions boom. Since then, applications across the board are down. Also, the LSAT has been restructured, so that the numbers listed here are likely to be incomprehensible to the new law applicant. In addition, one must investigate further the changes that the author asserts that the law schools are making. In one case, it was listed that a law building was in an abysmal state of disrepair, when in fact, the school has built an entirely new facility since the last printing. Also, unrelated to the age of this resource is the fact that much of the information contained within its covers is anecdotal. The experiences of different students at the same school surely varies tremendously. "Inside the Law Schools" is best used as a basic resource to get an initial "feel" for different schools before conducting more in-depth research.
