5.0 out of 5 stars Supreme Soul
I think this album rates among the best Soul albums of all time.Leon has a very silky voice and he sings with such a sensitivity that emotions immediatly pour through your skin. That's what Soul music is about, and Leon acts like the master he really is. Before listening to Leon ware's music I assotiated his name with Marvin Gaye, since he had been the producer of the...

3.0 out of 5 stars love you leon...but CLUB SASHAY??
Am a big, long time fan but this would not be the first choice of his albums. The minnie ripperton tune is v good but the cheese factor elsewhere is way too high.....titles like "what's your name" and "club sashay"......bit naff. Brilliant production throughout but no real useful samples or classic basslines/ chord sequences like on his first album...

I think this album rates among the best Soul albums of all time.Leon has a very silky voice and he sings with such a sensitivity that emotions immediatly pour through your skin. That's what Soul music is about, and Leon acts like the master he really is. Before listening to Leon ware's music I assotiated his name with Marvin Gaye, since he had been the producer of the historical "I want you" album. But, even if I was ignorant of that collaboration, listening to his music would always remind me of Marvin's, because it shares the same sensual and emotional depth, making me believe that Leon is Marvin's "alter ego". This album consists in 9 solid songs, blended with a touch of jazz, in wich the highlight is, in my opinion, the superb version of Minni Riperton's "inside my love", called here "inside your love". After listening to "inside is love", it's clear evidence that, besides from being a top quality producer and songwritter, Leon Ware is also a great singer. The only thing I didn't like in this album is that it only takes 36 minutes. Anyway Leon's music will last forever!

4.0 out of 5 stars Leon Ware is Genius, March 30, 2008

I am a very big fan of Leon's work. He is so underrated, He is Genius. When it comes to Leon, it's who hasn't he worked with because many of the greats of R&B/Jazz have written with him or covered his tunes. By the way, whom ever wrote in the editioral section that Minnie Riperton later covered "Inside My Love" is wrong...Minnie, Richard Rudolph and Leon wrote this(and several other tunes) in 1975 and it's featured on Minnie's "Adventures In Paradise". It is an R&B Classic.... Leon did his version in 1979. Research before writing! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Thank God there's a place "ware" I can find this on CD, October 22, 2006

Great album from great singer. I first heard it just a few weeks ago when I found an original 1979 cassette copy from a place near my house that specializes in records and old tapes. In almost no time the disco-ish "What's Your Name" became one of my very favorite songs.

I really think this album didn't get the true recognition it deserved.

An incredible voice and an incredible production (which by the way he produced) it's just a shame that this album is not recognized by a lot of people.

A true masterpiece!!!!!!
